Why was the Scarborough booking significant to the band?
PerthNow reported that the brothers expected the show to draw their biggest crowd yet. Conrad said playing at the amphitheatre was a long-held ambition: “Every time we visit the markets at the amphitheatre, I’ve thought to myself ‘This would be the coolest place ever to play a gig at’. I promised myself I’d say it in every interview I could, and now it’s happening, it’s honestly a dream come true,” he said. Oscar described the beachside setting’s energy as special, recalling people “dancing and eating, just enjoying the night.”
Francis said the band liked “keeping the energy high and surprising the audience.” Conrad added that years of playing together had given the brothers ways to communicate on stage without always speaking. The preview mentioned a surprise collaboration but did not identify the collaborator.
