Telepictures, which produces Extra, also thanked Bush for his time on the program. Senior vice president of current programming Lauren Blincoe said, “We are so grateful to Billy for five standout seasons with ‘Extra.’”
When did Bush leave, and what was his final date?
The May 2025 announcement said Bush was expected to remain with Extra through the end of season 31. It did not identify an exact final episode or departure date, so the announcement establishes the planned season endpoint, not the date of his last broadcast.

A Hot Mics press release dated September 29, 2026, described a relaunch with live programming four days a week beginning September 28. That schedule reflects the show’s announcement at the time; programming plans can change.
He joined Fox News Media as a contributor
Fox News Media announced on September 22, 2026, that Bush had joined the company as a contributor. Its announcement describes his Extra tenure as 2019–2025, clarifying the years covered by his five seasons on the show. The later Fox role was announced more than a year after Bush said he was leaving Extra; it was not the reason given in his 2025 departure announcement.
