Her publicist told CBS News that no one was injured. “Flying car” refers to the concert prop, not a real road-going or personal aircraft.
What happened during the Houston show?
The incident took place at NRG Stadium during Beyoncé’s first of two Houston dates on the Cowboy Carter Tour. She was seated on a red convertible stage prop suspended above the audience during “16 Carriages” when it began to tilt. Video and reporting show her signaling the crew to stop; the music paused, and the team brought the prop down. CBS News and Sound & Video Contractor reported the sequence.
After being lowered, Beyoncé addressed the crowd, thanking them for their patience. Sound & Video Contractor also reported her saying, “I wanna thank y’all for loving me. If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.” The song resumed onstage, and the performance continued. Storyful’s video record, credited to Tina Nguyen and published July 1, 2025, documents the moment.
Was anyone injured, and what caused the prop to tilt?
Beyoncé’s publicist told CBS News: “She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.” CBS reported that the cause was not immediately clear. The public accounts cited here do not identify a failed cable, hoist, control system, or other specific component, so the mechanical cause remains unestablished.
