The reports did not establish that every copy was affected. A separately listed 27-track vinyl edition includes those songs, but it is a different release from the earlier limited editions.
Which songs did buyers report missing?
The complaints surfaced as preorders arrived around release weekend. The Guardian and The Independent reported that early vinyl copies buyers received omitted five tracks from the digital album:
- “Flamenco”
- “Oh Louisiana”
- “The Linda Martell Show”
- “Spaghetti”
- “Ya Ya”
Reports about the CD named the same four songs except “Flamenco.” Both outlets noted that it was unclear whether all copies of the early editions had the omissions. These reports describe the copies buyers received at the time, not every pressing or subsequent release. The Guardian’s report and The Independent’s report covered the complaints in 2024.
Why were the tracks missing?
No confirmed explanation for the omissions appears in the cited coverage. Some fans and media reports speculated that the physical copies had been pressed before late changes to the album’s tracklist. The Guardian cited a press lead-time estimate of “10 weeks to six months,” attributed to the BBC, but that estimate does not establish that timing caused these specific omissions. The outlet said it contacted Sony Music for comment; its report did not document an on-record explanation from Beyoncé or the label.

The official store lists distinct physical releases with different track counts. The full vinyl listing has 27 tracks, while the listed limited-edition vinyl has 19 and the limited-edition CD box set has 23. Do not assume that every Cowboy Carter CD or vinyl shares one tracklist.

- Confirm current stock, shipping, and the seller’s listing. The official full-vinyl page displayed a waitlist and US-and-Canada-only shipping when checked October 8, 2026; other retailers’ inventory was not established by that listing.
What fans said about the early editions
Fans complained on social media and the official store’s Instagram account. The Guardian reported calls for discounts or refunds and quoted an unnamed TikTok user: “It’s such a shame because Ya Ya is probably up there with my top five favourite songs at the moment … I’m quite miffed.” The coverage does not establish a general refund outcome.
