Spoilers: No. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has no mid-credits or post-credits scene. Its Bran Castle and baby Beetlejuice sequence happens before the credits and is part of Lydia’s nightmare—not a confirmed prediction or sequel setup.
Is there a post-credits scene in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice?
No. There is nothing extra to wait for during or after the credits. The film’s final images appear before the credits begin, and the movie frames them as a dream through Lydia’s repeated awakenings. GamesRadar+ confirms the distinction between the dream sequence and a post-credits scene.

What happens at the end?
Beetlejuice interrupts Lydia’s wedding
After Charles’s death, Lydia, her daughter Astrid, and Delia return to Winter River. Astrid becomes trapped in the afterlife, and Lydia turns to Beetlejuice for help. He agrees to rescue Astrid in exchange for a marriage pact. At the church, Beetlejuice disrupts Lydia’s planned wedding to Rory, exposing Rory’s self-interest with truth serum before launching his own wedding ceremony with Lydia.
The church turns into a supernatural spectacle
The ceremony becomes a lip-sync performance of Richard Harris’s “MacArthur Park,” with the characters caught up in the musical chaos. Editor Jay Prychidny said Tim Burton decided to make the scene a performance of the song, prompting a script change: “At one point, Tim just decided that they’re all going to be singing ‘MacArthur Park,’ and so that change did get into the script.” Prychidny discussed the sequence with The Credits.

Delores and Rory are swallowed by a sandworm
Wolf Jackson’s officers arrive, and Beetlejuice freezes them. Delores then appears to claim Beetlejuice’s soul. Lydia and Astrid open a door to the afterlife; a sandworm swallows Delores and Rory. Lydia, Astrid, and Delia say Beetlejuice’s name three times, and he bursts apart. The film does not establish that this defeat is permanent.
Lydia and Astrid return; Delia reunites with Charles
Lydia and Astrid make it back to the living world. Delia is taken to the afterlife, where she reunites with Charles; the ending account says the two promise to haunt Lydia and Astrid. Lydia and Astrid have moved toward reconciliation, and Lydia says she will retire from her on-screen medium work to spend more time with her daughter. GamesRadar+ recaps the ending and the characters’ fates.

What is Lydia’s final dream?
Before the credits, Lydia dreams that she and Astrid visit Bran Castle in Transylvania. Astrid meets a man dressed as a vampire, marries him, and becomes pregnant. She gives birth to a monstrous baby Beetlejuice. Lydia then dreams that she wakes beside Beetlejuice, only to wake again alone in her own bed.
The repeated awakenings make the images part of a nightmare, not events the film confirms as happening in the story’s present. A reasonable interpretation is that the dream expresses Lydia’s lingering fear of Beetlejuice and anxiety about Astrid’s future, but the film does not provide a definitive explanation. It also does not confirm that the dream predicts the future or that Beetlejuice has returned for good.

What the ending says about Lydia and Astrid
The emotional resolution is less about the dream than the bond between mother and daughter. Earlier, an attic conversation brings their shared grief and family connection into focus. Prychidny described that moment as showing “the shared trauma between them, the family bond between them, and the importance of movies in their lives.” His production perspective speaks to the relationship at the story’s center, but it does not settle what Lydia’s dream means.
The sequel also shifts attention toward the Deetz women. In a TIME interview about the sequel’s connection to the original, Burton said of the Maitlands, “Even though they were such an amazing integral part of the first one, I was focusing on something else.” Their absence is not presented as a hidden clue about the final dream.
