Felix Comic Art showed the design in a video streamed on October 27, 2025; it was created by Nick Dragotta and was set to appear in Absolute Batman #15.
What does the Absolute Joker look like?
Jason Wiese’s October 28, 2025, report on the reveal describes a monstrous figure with horns, a pointed tail, dorsal plates running along the spine and rows of teeth. The account says the artist’s notes described those teeth as being for “constant consumption”; because the notes’ author is not identified, that wording should not be attributed specifically to Dragotta. Felix Comic Art’s reveal coverage credits Dragotta with the design.
When and where was the design revealed?
Felix Comic Art presented the exclusive look in a video streamed October 27, 2025. Wiese’s report followed on October 28. The reveal was therefore a 2025 event, not a new announcement.
Which issue features the Absolute Joker’s true form?
The design was associated with Absolute Batman #15. DC’s official listing records the issue’s on-sale date as December 10, 2025, and identifies the Joker among its characters. The listing describes a 24-page comic with a US list price of $4.99; those are historical issue details, not evidence of its current price or availability. DC credits Scott Snyder as writer and Jock for interior art, with Nick Dragotta and Frank Martin among the cover credits. DC’s issue listing

How does this version differ from the familiar Joker?
DC’s March 9, 2026, editorial retrospective describes the Joker’s true form as “more draconic than human” and contrasts it with the earlier impression of a wealthy, mirthless man. That is DC editorial framing rather than a neutral declaration of canon intent. The visual features reported at the reveal—especially the plates, tail and horns—make the creature-like transformation clear. DC’s retrospective
Is the Absolute Joker a redesign across all DC stories?
No. DC describes Absolute Batman as part of an entirely new continuity, separate from the rest of the DC Universe, and says readers can begin without prior Batman-history knowledge. This Joker design belongs to that distinct version of the story; it does not establish a universal redesign for Joker in other DC continuities. DC’s introduction to the series
