The 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards brought a wide range of red-carpet fashion to Los Angeles on February 23, 2025. Among the standout looks selected by fashion editors: Danielle Deadwyler in sculptural red Louis Vuitton, Cynthia Erivo in archival Givenchy, Ariana Grande in custom pink Loewe, and Lily Gladstone in a Gucci gown she had worn before.
Four standout looks from the 2025 SAG Awards
“Best dressed” is an editorial choice, not an official SAG Awards category or an objective ranking. Vogue’s curated slideshow and other publications’ selections offer different ways to view the carpet; the details below explain what makes these outfits visually distinctive.
Danielle Deadwyler: vivid red and sculptural volume
Vogue highlights Deadwyler in a tiered Louis Vuitton gown. The saturated red and pronounced, sculptural volume give the look a strong silhouette that reads clearly in photographs. Vogue’s best-dressed slideshow
Cynthia Erivo: archival Givenchy with texture
Erivo wore a silver Givenchy gown from the fall 1997 collection, designed by Alexander McQueen. Plaited raffia and a fringed collar and sleeves add texture to the metallic look, while its archival provenance gives the outfit a connection to fashion history. Vogue’s best-dressed slideshow

Ariana Grande: Glinda pink by Loewe
Grande’s custom Loewe floral dress was in Glinda pink, a visual nod to her role in Wicked. The color connects the red-carpet look to the character without making the dress a costume. Vogue’s best-dressed slideshow
Lily Gladstone: a meaningful repeat
Gladstone repeated a custom Gucci gown featuring intricate quillwork by Indigenous artist Joe Big Mountain. She had previously worn it to the Oscars after-party the year before, making the choice notable both for its craftsmanship and for its return to the red carpet. Vogue’s best-dressed slideshow

ELLE’s gallery broadens the mix of silhouettes and design houses. Its captions identify Anna Sawai in custom Armani Privé; Sofia Carson in Elie Saab; Keke Palmer in vintage Chanel with Brilliant Earth; Alycia Debnam-Carey in Christian Dior with Effy; Elle Fanning in Loewe with Cartier; Selena Gomez in custom Celine with Messika and Jimmy Choo; Mikey Madison in custom Louis Vuitton with Tiffany & Co.; Nicola Coughlan in custom Christian Dior; and Colman Domingo in Valentino. These attributions describe event looks, including custom and vintage pieces, rather than confirming that the same garments are available to buy. ELLE’s best-dressed gallery
Why the lists differ
There is no shared judging rubric behind these roundups: editors select looks and emphasize different combinations of silhouette, color, provenance, texture, and accessories. The Los Angeles Times also selected Erivo, Gomez, and Carson, while calling Jane Fonda’s look custom printed Armani and describing Monica Barbaro in red. Its captions identify Quinta Brunson in a lace Christian Dior dress. The Los Angeles Times red-carpet gallery

Where to see more of the carpet
A curated best-dressed list is only a slice of the event’s fashion. Vogue’s best-dressed slideshow contains 23 selected looks, while its all-looks gallery labels 130 entries. Those are gallery counts, not a measure of how many attendees were present or how the outfits ranked. The Associated Press also published a photo-editor-selected collection.
