Entertainment outlets reported in September 2025 that singer Benson Boone and actress Maggie Thurmon had split. The sources reviewed do not establish why, and neither person’s current relationship status is established by the available reporting as of October 8, 2026.
What is known about the reported split
TMZ and E! reported the breakup on September 11, 2025. TMZ cited sources and said the reason was unclear. E! said it had sought comment from representatives but had not received a response by publication. The reports establish that outlets covered a split; they do not provide a joint announcement or an on-the-record explanation from Boone or Thurmon.

When were Boone and Thurmon publicly linked?
E! reported that the pair went public at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards viewing party in March 2024. That is a public milestone, not proof of the exact date they began dating. Accounts differ on the relationship’s duration, so an exact length is not independently established by the reporting reviewed.
What did Boone say before the reports?
TV Insider relayed remarks Boone reportedly made before a Nashville performance on September 9, 2025, based on a fan’s TikTok. He was quoted as saying: “Sometimes people leave your life, whether it’s the right thing or the wrong thing — and it is always hard, always, every single time.” The remarks did not name Thurmon or explain a breakup, so they should not be treated as a direct announcement.

Did cheating cause the breakup?
No established explanation supports that conclusion. Us Weekly reported in October 2025 on a since-deleted TikTok comment attributed to Thurmon that appeared to allude to cheating. Its report relied on screenshots and said Boone’s representative could not be reached. This does not establish that cheating occurred, identify anyone involved, or show that it caused the reported split. TV Insider likewise noted that neither person had officially explained the breakup.

The reporting reviewed does not establish either person’s current relationship status as of October 8, 2026. A TMZ profile-index result for a July 30, 2026 article alleged that Boone kissed an unidentified woman, but that item does not establish the woman’s identity, the nature of their relationship, or Boone’s or Thurmon’s present status.
