Yes. Batman became the first superhero character honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame when it was dedicated on September 26, 2024. The star is in the Motion Pictures category at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard, and Guinness World Records recognized Batman as the first superhero with a Walk of Fame star.
What “first superhero” means
The distinction is specifically about a superhero character receiving a Walk of Fame star. It does not mean Batman was the first fictional character to receive any kind of star, nor that performers who played superheroes had never been honored. The 2024 ceremony paired the character’s star with a Guinness World Records recognition for that narrower first.
When and where Batman’s star was dedicated
The ceremony took place Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Batman’s star is the Walk of Fame’s 2,790th, in the Motion Pictures category, at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, in front of the Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum. The Hollywood Walk of Fame’s announcement and DC’s ceremony report give the location and dedication details.
Who recognized the record—and who administers the Walk?
Two institutions were involved in distinct ways. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the Walk of Fame on behalf of the City of Los Angeles; its announcement says honorees are selected by a committee of their peers, while sponsors fund a star, its ceremony, and maintenance. At the Batman ceremony, Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric presented the record certificate for the first-superhero distinction. Guinness World Records’ report describes that recognition.

The Chamber announcement does not identify who specifically nominated Batman or explain why the committee selected him before Superman or another superhero. The available announcement supports the general selection process, not a character-specific rationale.
How the star connects Batman to earlier Hollywood honors
Batman’s star is next to those of Adam West, who played Batman on television, and Bob Kane, identified by the Walk of Fame as a co-creator of the character. That placement links recognition of the character in Motion Pictures with honors for a screen portrayal and a creator.

The Walk of Fame says Batman was created for DC Comics by Bob Kane with Bill Finger and first appeared in 1939’s Detective Comics #27. The character’s screen history includes Adam West’s 1966 television portrayal and Robert Pattinson in The Batman. DC also describes Batman’s presence across comics, television, animation, and film.
