Schwarzenegger called DeVito “my brother” and said he hoped they would work together again—a nod to their fictional siblings in the 1988 comedy Twins, not an announcement of a sequel. In June 2026, DeVito said the actors were actively looking to make another movie together, but no project has been named or confirmed.
What happened at the Broadway reunion?
Schwarzenegger visited DeVito while he was starring in I Need That on Broadway alongside his daughter, Lucy DeVito. In a photo caption quoted by Fox News on December 29, 2023, Schwarzenegger wrote: “My brother! It was fantastic to see Danny on Broadway in ‘I Need That,’” and added, “I can’t wait to work together again.”
“My brother” evokes their roles in Twins, the 1988 comedy in which Schwarzenegger and DeVito play genetically engineered brothers separated at birth. The reunion was a personal visit and expression of affection; it did not signal that a film was moving into production.
Is a new movie or Twins sequel in the works?
There is no confirmed new film. DeVito’s latest reported update came in a Fox News Digital video published June 5, 2026: he said he and Schwarzenegger were actively looking to make another movie together and had enjoyed working on Twins and Junior. He did not identify a project, announce a production start or give a release date.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The interest follows earlier comments. In 2023, DeVito mentioned a “little project” the two had discussed; after an Oscars reunion, a March 2024 Fox News report said they were in discussions about a new film. Those statements document ongoing interest, not a greenlit production.
What happened to Triplets?
Triplets was a specific proposed follow-up to Twins, intended to reunite Schwarzenegger and DeVito and add a third sibling. Eddie Murphy was initially associated with that role, with Tracy Morgan later linked to it. The project was delayed after director Ivan Reitman died in February 2022 and ultimately fell through. Schwarzenegger told The Hollywood Reporter in May 2023 that Jason Reitman stopped the project after his father’s death; Fox News also recounted that history.

That cancelled sequel plan is distinct from the unnamed movie DeVito says the pair are now seeking. The Broadway visit did not revive Triplets, and the latest comments do not establish that another Twins follow-up is being made.

Schwarzenegger and DeVito also appeared together in the 1994 comedy Junior. Their shared screen history gives the “brother” line its familiar Twins connection, while Schwarzenegger’s hope to work together again—and DeVito’s more recent account of their search for a movie—offers a reason to watch for future news without treating a collaboration as settled.
