But the available record does not establish a dedicated Barbie Pride doll line or confirm that a Pride-branded Barbie or Ken is currently for sale. Those distinctions matter: company statements, Barbie’s wider diversity work, and LGBTQ-connected products are related, but they are not the same thing.
Is there a dedicated Barbie Pride doll?
The available sources do not verify a dedicated Barbie Pride doll or Pride-branded Barbie and Ken line. Mattel has discussed Pride and LGBTQIA+ support at the company level, but that does not establish a specific Barbie product. Nor does the evidence here confirm current retail availability for any particular doll.

For a current purchase decision, check Mattel’s official product listings or a retailer’s live listing. A product connected to an LGBTQ person should not be described as a Pride release unless the maker identifies it that way.
What Barbie’s wider diversity work includes
Mattel describes representation as one of Barbie’s brand priorities, alongside empowerment and environmental impact. That is the company’s own description of its priorities, not an independent evaluation of their reach or effects. Mattel’s Barbie brand page and its diversity and inclusion page provide the company’s framing.

Mattel’s 2020 Citizenship Report documented diversity in the Fashionistas line, including dolls with vitiligo, prosthetic limbs, and wheelchairs. For that line at that time, the report listed five body types, 18 skin tones, 19 eye colors, 72 hairstyles, and more than 150 distinct looks. These are historical figures from 2020, not current specifications—and they describe broad representation, not LGBTQIAPN+ representation. Mattel, 2020 Citizenship Report.
The report also attributed this statement to Lisa McKnight, then General Manager and Senior Vice President of Barbie: “Since 1959, Barbie has inspired the limitless potential in every girl, and we believe that empowering them at a young age is a catalyst to unlocking their full potential.” It is a corporate statement about Barbie’s mission, not a specific statement about LGBTQIAPN+ people. Mattel’s Pride and LGBTQIA+ statements
Mattel has publicly expressed support for the LGBTQIA+ community and discussed Pride activity, including a post referencing a partnership with GLAAD. That is evidence of company-level messaging and activity; it does not, by itself, show that Barbie has a dedicated LGBTQIA+ product line or that GLAAD endorsed a specific doll. Mattel’s Pride post.
The Laverne Cox Barbie Tribute Collection doll
A named product with a documented connection to an LGBTQ person is the Laverne Cox Barbie Tribute Collection doll. Cox is a transgender actress and activist. This makes the collectible relevant to LGBTQ representation, but the product identification does not establish that it was marketed as a Pride doll. Product reference.

The distinction is useful when describing the doll: it is a Barbie collectible modeled on Laverne Cox, not evidence of an explicitly Pride-branded release. The sources cited here do not confirm whether it is currently available, its price, or where it can be purchased.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the published record does—and does not—show
Mattel’s materials document broad Fashionistas diversity and company-level Pride and LGBTQIA+ activity; the Laverne Cox collectible offers a specific connection to a transgender public figure. The sources reviewed do not provide a named statistic measuring LGBTQIAPN+ representation in Barbie or its effect on LGBTQ readers. Broad diversity figures should not be presented as if they measure that specific representation.
