His reported message paired that criticism with restraint. James wrote that it was “hard to hold grudges against any one person or entity,” adding, “We all have our priorities. And I like to think the intentions are honorable as well.” He also offered Jenn encouragement: “Your heart will be beating to a much better rhythm soon.” Life & Style’s September 5 report summarized that encouragement as urging her to “hang tight.”
The wording is reported secondhand: the original Instagram post was not independently accessed for these reports. “Needlessly cruel” is James’s reported judgment of the finale, not an established finding about the motives or decisions of the people who made it.

What happened between Jenn and Devin in the finale
Season 21 ended with Jenn and Devin Strader facing the end of their engagement on television. The coverage says the breakup happened after filming and that Jenn said Devin ended the relationship by phone about a month earlier.
During the finale, Jenn confronted Devin and watched a replay of her proposal. As quoted by NextShark, she said, “He basically said he didn’t love me anymore,” and, “I do not regret proposing to that man… but that man doesn’t exist anymore.” Life & Style’s search-result text reports that James was in the audience during the confrontation.
