Bad Bunny’s “DtMF” reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 after debuting at No. 38 for the chart dated January 18, 2025. That was an important stop in the song’s rise—not its final peak: after Bad Bunny performed at the Super Bowl halftime show on February 8, 2026, it returned to the top 10 and later reached No. 1, Billboard Colombia reported on February 18, 2026.
What “DtMF” means
“DtMF” abbreviates Debí Tirar Más Fotos, the title track from Bad Bunny’s album of the same name. Billboard Brasil identifies it as the album’s 16th track and translates the phrase as “I should have taken more photos.” In Puerto Rican usage, “tirar fotos” means to take photographs.

The title points to the song’s central feeling: looking back and wishing you had preserved more moments with people you love. Billboard coverage describes it as an appeal to value time with family, friends, and loved ones, and to hold on to those memories.
Is the song about one specific person?
Its themes of nostalgia, absence, and regret do not establish that it is about one particular relationship. In a TIME interview published January 5, 2025, Bad Bunny said that a song’s meaning can vary: it might concern the absence of a person or a love, but it can also refer to other things that are no longer present. He was describing how songs can be understood, not offering a definitive lyric-by-lyric account of “DtMF.”

How the Hot 100 peak changed
Billboard Colombia’s February 18, 2026 report traced the song from its No. 38 debut for the January 18, 2025 chart to No. 2. Following Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance on February 8, 2026, “DtMF” returned to the Hot 100’s top 10 and subsequently rose to No. 1. The No. 2 position is therefore a dated milestone in its chart history, not its highest position overall.

The Associated Press, citing Luminate, reported that “DtMF” drew 10.4 million U.S. streams on February 9, 2026, making it Bad Bunny’s most-streamed song in the country that day. His catalog received 99.6 million U.S. streams that day, compared with 36.2 million on February 2. The week also included the Grammy Awards, so that broader catalog increase should not be attributed solely to the Super Bowl performance.
