Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on December 18, 2026. Disney lists a different local date for the UK: December 16, 2026.

| United States theaters | December 18, 2026 | Disney Movies lists the film as exclusive to theaters. Source: Disney Movies |

The two cinema dates are territory-specific listings, not competing answers to one worldwide release date. Disney’s U.S. page gives December 18, while Disney’s UK pages give December 16. Disney’s corporate account also repeated the U.S. date in its Comic-Con announcement: The Walt Disney Company.
What the official synopsis confirms
Marvel Studios’ official synopsis says heroes from three distinct universes will be brought into a deadly collision course and face an existential threat. Disney+ UK describes the film as the Multiverse Saga’s final chapter. Those official descriptions establish the broad premise, but do not confirm more specific plot details.
Disney+ UK identifies Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom, in a new Marvel Cinematic Universe role. The same page says there is no confirmed connection between Tony Stark and Doctor Doom; theories linking the two remain speculation.

What to know about the theatrical format
Disney UK says the film will be available in INFINITY VISION, which it describes as a new certification for Premium Large Format cinemas. This is a UK announcement, not confirmation that every cinema—or theaters in every country—will offer that format. Check local listings for participating screens and showtimes closer to release.
