For the U.S. streaming week of October 20–26, the biggest draws are Kathryn Bigelow’s thriller A House of Dynamite on Netflix, the horror film Weapons making its HBO Max streaming debut, and HBO Max’s Sunday launch of It: Welcome to Derry. Netflix’s Nobody Wants This returns for Season 2 on Thursday, while Mayor of Kingstown starts Season 4 on Paramount+ Sunday. The dates below distinguish Friday’s arrivals from titles that land earlier or later in the week.
The week’s biggest premieres
A House of Dynamite — Netflix, Friday, October 24
Kathryn Bigelow’s thriller begins with an unidentified missile launched toward the United States, setting off a race to determine where it came from and how to respond. Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Anthony Ramos, Greta Lee, and Jason Clarke star. It is the week’s adult, high-stakes thriller option rather than a Halloween horror pick. See the title on Netflix.
Weapons — HBO Max, Friday, October 24
The film makes its subscription-streaming premiere on HBO Max. Its mystery starts when nearly every child in one class disappears at the same time, leaving the community searching for an explanation. Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan star. For horror viewers, it is the main feature-film arrival of the week.
It: Welcome to Derry — HBO Max, Sunday, October 26
This new series expands the universe of the recent It films. Bill Skarsgård returns as Pennywise, and filmmaker Andy Muschietti is involved and directs episodes. It arrives Sunday, not on Friday, so it is a weekend premiere to plan for rather than a title available on October 24.

How to read the dates
This guide covers U.S. arrivals from Monday, October 20, through Sunday, October 26, 2025, with October 24 as its central release date. A Friday date in a listing does not mean every title is a new original: some are streaming premieres, some are catalog additions, and others are weekly episodes. Services can use different release hours, and international schedules may differ.
