Super Bowl LIX streamed free on Tubi on February 9, 2025, but it is no longer a live viewing option. Tubi carried FOX’s game broadcast without a paid subscription or TV-provider login; viewers did need a free account, and the stream included advertising. Tubi’s event page now marks the event as ended: Tubi’s Super Bowl page.
What the Tubi offer actually was
FOX’s Super Bowl LIX telecast was simulcast live on Tubi, making it the first Super Bowl streamed live on the service, according to FOX’s announcement. This was the game broadcast, not just highlights or a delayed clip. The game took place Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with the Kansas City Chiefs facing the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Free” meant no subscription fee and no cable, satellite, or live-TV-provider authentication. It did not mean anonymous or ad-free: Tubi required viewers to register for a free account, and the service is advertising-supported. CBS News reported that the stream carried the same Super Bowl advertisements as the television broadcast; that detail was reported at the time, not independently tested here. See CBS News’ coverage and Tubi’s event help page.
What viewers could watch
Tubi’s event schedule listed FOX pregame coverage from 11 a.m. Eastern, Tubi’s own “Tubi Red Carpet at Super Bowl LIX” at 3:30 p.m. Eastern, and kickoff at 6 p.m. Eastern. The live game included FOX’s broadcast presentation and halftime entertainment. The red-carpet show was separate Tubi programming; details appear in Tubi’s announcement.
#1 Best Overall
Tubi’s event help page described its Super Bowl stream as English-only. FOX separately listed Telemundo and FOX Deportes among the broader viewing options in its Super Bowl LIX coverage announcement. Those were separate distribution paths, not evidence that Tubi offered Spanish audio.
How access worked at the time
For the February 2025 event, viewers could open Tubi in a web browser or use its app on the devices listed by Tubi. The following compatibility details and software versions are historical event instructions, not a guarantee of current Tubi support.
- Platforms Tubi listed: LG TVs running webOS 5.0 or later, Samsung TVs from 2018 or later, Vizio TVs, Google TV, Android phones and Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Comcast devices, Roku, Xbox One, Apple mobile devices, and Apple TV.
- App versions Tubi listed: Roku 3.6.5; Fire TV 9.3.1001; iPhone 9.3.5; Apple TV 9.3.3; Android 9.3.1; Android TV 9.3.3; Samsung 2.0.29; and LG TV 1.2.5.
Tubi recommended updating the app and device operating system before kickoff. The historical access sequence was simple: open Tubi on a supported device or browser, create or sign in to a free account, find the Super Bowl event page, and start the stream when it became available. Tubi’s event help page contains the original instructions.
What “4K” required
Tubi and FOX promoted 4K availability for compatible setups; that did not mean every device capable of running Tubi displayed the game in 4K. Tubi said viewers needed a 4K television, a 4K-compatible streaming device, a 4K-capable HDMI cable, and a sufficiently strong internet connection. Device and display settings could also affect the picture. See Tubi’s requirements and LiveNOW from FOX’s viewing guide. The available information does not establish a universal 4K experience or justify promises about HDR, Dolby Vision, audio format, or bitrate.
Why the stream might not have appeared or looked right
For viewers trying to access the event in 2025, Tubi’s troubleshooting guidance pointed first to the app, device, and event timing:
Rank #2
- No event listing: The stream might not yet have activated, the viewer might have been too early, or the app or device software might have been outdated. Tubi advised updating both and checking the event’s compatibility requirements.
- Registration prompt: A free account was still required even though payment and a TV-provider login were not.
- Washed-out or oversaturated picture: Tubi noted that dynamic-range or color-format settings, including a device defaulting to Dolby Vision, could affect the display. Its suggestions included checking the device’s picture settings, trying HDR instead of Dolby Vision where appropriate, restarting the device, and reopening Tubi. Menu labels and results vary by device.
These steps applied to the 2025 event; they cannot reopen a stream that has since ended. Tubi’s detailed guidance is on its event help page.

As of August 18, 2026, Tubi’s official Super Bowl page identifies Super Bowl LIX as ended. The original live event is over, so readers should not expect its event page to provide an active live broadcast or assume that general NFL or FOX Sports programming on Tubi is a replay of this game. The current status is shown on Tubi’s Super Bowl page.
FOX’s 2025 coverage announcement also listed over-the-air FOX, Spanish-language outlets, NFL digital properties, and other distribution routes. Paid live-TV services such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Fubo were identified at the time as options carrying FOX’s broadcast; that historical information does not establish their current prices, availability, or replay catalogs. For future FOX-televised events, check each provider’s current lineup and terms rather than treating any subscription as a way to recover the ended Tubi stream. The 2025 options are summarized in TIME’s Super Bowl guide.
How large was Tubi’s Super Bowl audience?
Tubi reported 15.5 million peak concurrent streaming viewers and 13.6 million average-minute streaming viewers for its Super Bowl LIX simulcast. It also reported 24 million unique viewers across game-day programming beginning with the FOX pregame show. These are company-reported figures, not independently audited measurements; Tubi published them in its post-event results announcement.
