Rights are split by competition and country, and availability can also depend on the match and your plan. To find a legitimate stream, identify the competition, check its official rights information for the country where you are watching, then confirm the match in the broadcaster’s schedule. MUTV is useful for club coverage, replays and audio, but it is not a live pass for every competitive match.
The quickest way to find a United match stream
- Find the fixture. Check Manchester United’s official fixture list for the opponent, date and competition. Fixtures and kick-off times can change.
- Identify the competition. Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and UEFA games have separate rights arrangements.
- Look up the rights holder for your current country. Use the relevant official competition page below; a broadcaster for one competition may not show another.
- Check the broadcaster’s own schedule and plan details. Confirm that the specific match is live, included in your plan, and available on the app, channel or bundle you intend to use.
- Subscribe through the broadcaster or an authorized TV provider. Check device compatibility, stream limits, location restrictions and cancellation terms before matchday.
What MUTV does—and does not—show
MUTV does not show Manchester United men’s first-team Premier League, European or domestic-cup matches live during the regular season. The club’s FAQ and subscription page describe a service focused on club programming and selected coverage, rather than every live first-team fixture.
| Coverage | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Live competitive men’s first-team matches | Not live on MUTV during the season; use the local rights holder for the competition. |
| Audio and matchday programming | Live audio commentary and matchday shows for first-team games. |
| Pre-season and selected other matches | Live pre-season coverage and selected women’s, academy and youth matches; check the current schedule. |
| After the match and club archive | Highlights, replays, classic matches, interviews, documentaries and other club programming. Replay access is not live-match access. |
If you want the club’s own programming alongside live match coverage from local broadcasters, MUTV can be a supplement. It is a poor choice as your only subscription if your aim is to watch every men’s competitive match live.
Where to watch each Manchester United competition
United’s competitive matches do not share one universal broadcast package. European coverage also depends on United qualifying for the relevant competition, while cup coverage depends on the club progressing.

| Competition | How rights work | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Premier League | Domestic and international rights are licensed by territory. The published international rights cycle covers 2025/26 through 2027/28 in listed markets. | Find the broadcaster for your country on the Premier League rights page, then confirm the match’s channel or streaming service and any blackout or plan rules. |
| FA Cup | The FA uses national and international broadcast partners. In the UK, TNT Sports’ four-year deal begins in 2025/26; selected matches are also available free-to-air. | Check the FA Cup global broadcast-partner list and current match selections. Free-to-air coverage is for selected fixtures, not every match. |
| EFL Cup / Carabao Cup | Rights are handled separately through the EFL arrangement and vary by territory. | Check the EFL’s current official fixture and broadcast information for the season and country. Do not assume the Premier League, FA Cup or UEFA provider carries it. |
| UEFA Champions League | UEFA appoints broadcast partners by country. | Check UEFA’s Champions League broadcast-partner page for your territory and the current season. |
| UEFA Europa League or Conference League | These competitions have their own arrangements; partners can differ from the Champions League even in the same country. | Use the current UEFA country and competition listing rather than assuming Champions League coverage applies. |
| Pre-season friendlies | Coverage may be club-controlled, part of a tournament arrangement or carried by a local broadcaster. | Check the fixture announcement and MUTV schedule for the specific match. |
How to find the official broadcaster in your country
The Premier League, UEFA and The FA maintain separate rights information because they sell different competitions. Use the page that matches the fixture, then verify the game in the broadcaster’s current schedule: selections may be announced later or change after fixture moves.
- Premier League: territory rights list for the 2025/26–2027/28 cycle.
- Champions League: UEFA broadcast partners by territory.
- FA Cup: The FA’s global broadcast partners; for UK deal details, see the FA’s TNT Sports announcement.
- Carabao Cup: use the EFL’s current official broadcast information. Verify the country and season rather than inferring a provider from another competition.
Subscribe only after confirming whether the match is live or replay-only, whether a sports add-on is needed, and whether the rights holder distributes through a standalone app, television channel or both. Use the provider’s own schedule on matchday rather than relying on an old third-party listing.

Examples for US and UK viewers
United States
For Premier League matches, US coverage is associated with NBCUniversal and can be split among NBC, USA Network and Peacock. A Peacock subscription may cover matches assigned to Peacock, while games on NBC or USA Network generally require access to those channels through an eligible TV or live-TV streaming package. Do not assume Peacock alone includes every Premier League match: check the specific season’s schedule and provider terms. Start with NBC Sports’ Premier League page, Peacock Sports and USA Network.
US coverage of other competitions is separate. Use the FA’s global-partner page for the FA Cup and UEFA’s current listing for European matches; a Premier League subscription does not establish cup or UEFA coverage. UEFA’s partner information for a particular final or season should not be treated as proof of coverage for every United match in a future season.

United Kingdom
UK viewers may need different services for different competitions. Premier League rights are divided among domestic rights holders; check the current Premier League information and fixture listing instead of assuming one provider carries every match. The FA’s four-year TNT Sports deal for the FA Cup begins in 2025/26, with selected matches also free-to-air. TNT Sports distribution and streaming options can change; check the current FA selections and provider pages, including TNT Sports, HBO Max UK, Sky Sports, BBC Sport and BBC iPlayer.
UK viewers should distinguish televised games from every game. The traditional Saturday 3 p.m. blackout can affect domestic live coverage; check current rules and the broadcaster’s listing for the fixture rather than assuming that a subscription makes every kick-off available.

Other countries
There is no reliable worldwide provider list that covers every competition, and a named service in one country should not be assumed to work in another. For Canada, Australia, India, Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East, use the relevant country entry on the official rights page for the competition, then verify the match with that provider. This avoids relying on a stale country table or mistaking one competition’s partner for a complete United package.

A subscription bought at home does not automatically work worldwide. Before departure, check the service’s travel and portability rules, whether your destination is covered, and whether your account requires a home billing address or payment method. EU portability rules may apply to eligible subscriptions and travel situations, but they are not a guarantee of global access. Also check whether downloads, catch-up and live streams have different restrictions.

If you live abroad permanently, use the authorized broadcaster in that country. A VPN is not a dependable substitute: services may detect location through more than an IP address, block playback, request account verification, or reject a billing-country mismatch. VPN use may also conflict with a provider’s terms or applicable law. Use one only where permitted by both; it does not remove local rights or blackout rules.
Do you need more than one subscription?
Often, yes. A supporter who wants every competitive match may need to combine services because league, domestic cup and UEFA rights are separate, and a provider may split its own coverage between a streaming app and television channels. United’s European qualification and cup progress can also change which services matter during the season.
A live-TV bundle can be useful when it carries a rights-holding channel such as NBC, USA Network, Sky Sports or TNT Sports, or when its DVR and replay features matter. It can be poor value if you only watch United, if the relevant match is on a separate service, or if the package includes channels you will not use. Compare confirmed competition coverage—not the number of sports channels or a headline price—and add services only when the fixtures you care about are assigned to them.
Why a match may not appear in your app
- The match is on another channel or sub-brand. Check the broadcaster’s schedule and your plan’s channel list.
- The selection is not final or the fixture moved. Recheck the official fixture and broadcaster schedule close to matchday.
- Your plan excludes the service carrying the game. A basic streaming subscription may not include a sports channel or add-on.
- You are outside the account’s territory or a blackout applies. Check location and local restrictions with the provider.
- You are checking the wrong competition’s rights page. Look up the FA Cup, EFL Cup or UEFA listing independently from the Premier League.
- The app or device is not supported, or playback quality is poor. Confirm compatibility and update the provider app before kickoff; if the stream fails, try the broadcaster’s supported website or device and check its service-status guidance.
- You expected a live stream but only replay, highlights or audio are offered. MUTV archive and matchday content do not mean the live video rights are included.
Official alternatives when live video is unavailable
If your local rights holder does not offer a live stream for a particular match, check whether it provides a delayed replay or highlights. MUTV can provide club audio commentary, matchday coverage and archive material, but the availability of each item depends on its schedule and rights. For selected FA Cup matches in the UK, free-to-air coverage is available; check the specific announced fixture rather than expecting every cup game to be free.
