What is Gashapon at Union Station?
Gashapon is Bandai’s capsule-toy brand. The Toronto location is an official Gashapon Bandai Official Shop, a specialty-store format for Bandai products. Bandai Namco describes these shops as places to experience Gashapon in person, with a broad range of machines and products. That general description does not establish which specific features or products are available in Toronto.

What was reported when the shop opened?
In an August 30, 2024 report, MobileSyrup reported that Bandai Namco opened the shop in partnership with Sparetime. The story called it Canada’s first Gashapon location and reported more than 260 machines. That number describes the store at launch, not a current machine count.
The same launch report named Gundam, One Piece, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen among the character and collectible brands represented. Those examples do not confirm what is in the machines today. The report also mentioned a tote-bag promotion tied to a $30 token purchase; that was a launch-era offer, not confirmation of a current promotion.

Why can the machine selection change?
Bandai Namco’s 2024 integrated report says the company introduces over 1,200 Gashapon products per year. It also says products can cycle out one to two months after release, while some popular products may be re-released around six months after cycling out. These are general company statements about product cycles, not a schedule or inventory guarantee for the Toronto shop. Check the machines in person for the current selection.
The same report describes Gashapon specialty shops as a way to offer a wide assortment of machines and products. Some Japanese locations have used inventory-checking features and fan-oriented spaces, but those Japan-specific examples do not establish that such features are available at Union Station.
