Why does Secret Wars invite reset theories?
The name has significant comic-book history, but that history is context rather than a film synopsis. Marvel’s guide covers two major events: the 1984 Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, which brought together prominent characters including the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and Hulk, and Jonathan Hickman’s 2015 event, whose multiverse-wide consequences included the transfer of Miles Morales to Marvel’s main universe. Those stories help explain why readers associate Secret Wars with large-scale change; they do not prove the MCU film will reproduce either plot or its exact consequences.
