No public confirmation in the reporting reviewed establishes that Dylan O’Brien and Sabrina Carpenter are or were a couple. Reports of sightings in New York in September 2022 sparked the rumor, and a fan theory later connected a lyric in Carpenter’s “Go Go Juice” to O’Brien. Neither point confirms a relationship.
Did Dylan O’Brien date Sabrina Carpenter?
The rumor began with reported sightings of O’Brien and Carpenter together in New York in September 2022, around New York Fashion Week. One account also relayed fans’ claims that they had seen the pair kissing. Those were reports and claims, not public confirmation from either person. Neither addressed the rumored relationship in the reporting at the time. Harper’s Bazaar and Parade later recounted the rumors as unconfirmed.
That leaves an important distinction: the public record described here does not establish that they dated, but it also cannot establish that they never did. The evidence supports calling it an unconfirmed rumor, not a confirmed relationship or a definitive denial of one.
Is the “villain” lyric in “Go Go Juice” about Dylan O’Brien?
Fans speculated that a lyric in Carpenter’s 2025 song “Go Go Juice,” from Man’s Best Friend, referred to O’Brien because of a rhyme with “villain.” The sources do not establish whom Carpenter had in mind, and she has not publicly confirmed that interpretation in the reporting reviewed.

When asked about the theory on Watch What Happens Live in September 2025, O’Brien said, “Oh, I wasn’t aware.” He also said, “She’s never drunk-dialed me.” These remarks address the alleged song reference; they do not confirm whether the two had a past or current relationship. Just Jared’s September 23, 2025 report covered the exchange.
What later reporting said about O’Brien’s dating life
In October 2025, Harper’s Bazaar and Parade reported that O’Brien was linked to model Rachael Lange, recounting public appearances and social-media posts. Parade noted that neither had publicly confirmed the connection. This is dated reporting, not confirmation of O’Brien’s relationship status in October 2026 or evidence that the earlier Carpenter rumor was true or false.
