Vi and Jinx have the most consequential relationship in Arcane Season 2, with Vi and Caitlyn close behind. That order is an editorial judgment, not an official ranking: it weighs each bond’s prominence, emotional change, and consequences for the people and communities involved. Spoilers for the season follow.
How this ranking works
“Best” does not mean healthiest or most harmonious. In Arcane, relationships matter because affection, loyalty, conflict, and competing duties shape what characters choose to do. The ranking gives the most weight to a bond’s place in the season’s story and the scale of its consequences, while also considering how the relationship changes.

The order is not canon or a comprehensive official list. Netflix’s season-two materials especially foreground Vi–Jinx and Vi–Caitlyn, making those the strongest-supported entries for this ranking.
1. Vi and Jinx: sisters caught in a city’s conflict
Vi and Jinx’s sisterhood sits at the center of Season 2’s emotional and political stakes. Netflix describes the sisters as being on rival sides of the brewing conflict between Piltover and Zaun, and says they are far from reconciling at the season’s outset. Their family bond is therefore inseparable from the conflict surrounding them: what happens between them carries consequences beyond the two of them.
#1 Best Overall
The production’s visual storytelling makes that fracture legible, too. In Netflix’s behind-the-scenes feature, production designer Arnaud-Loris Baudry identifies Janna’s temple as a visual representation of Vi and Jinx’s fractured relationship. That is a specific piece of production commentary, rather than a claim that every image or scene has only one meaning.
They rank first because their relationship combines the season’s strongest family stakes with consequences that reach into the Piltover-Zaun divide. It is not a simple reconciliation story; the distance between the sisters is part of what gives their connection its force.
Rank #2
2. Vi and Caitlyn: trust under pressure
Vi and Caitlyn’s bond is compelling because trust and conflict coexist. Hailee Steinfeld, who voices Vi, calls their relationship “so beautiful and so complex,” describing “a lot of push and pull between the two characters.” She says they may agree one moment and come into conflict the next. Vi, Steinfeld adds, “lean[s] on [Caitlyn] immensely and trusts her and almost defers to her, and they make a great team.”
That intimacy is tested by obligations beyond the relationship. Netflix’s soundtrack feature frames Caitlyn early in the season as caught between her duty to Piltover and her relationship with Vi. The tension is not evidence that their connection matters less; it shows how personal trust can be strained when the people involved face competing responsibilities.

They take second place because their relationship offers a particularly vivid mix of reliance, attraction, and disagreement, while Vi and Jinx’s bond is more deeply entangled with the season’s wider family and city conflict. A ranking that prioritized relationship change or intimacy over narrative centrality could reasonably put Vi and Caitlyn first.

Season 2 is the conclusion of Arcane’s story as originally planned. Co-creator Christian Linke told Netflix Tudum: “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of ARCANE wraps up with this second season.” That context gives the relationships’ choices and consequences the weight of a closing chapter, rather than suggesting this list predicts future seasons.
