Two men who climbed a tower inside Perth’s Optus Stadium during Metallica’s November 1, 2025 concert were reported to have pleaded guilty to trespass and received lifetime bans from the venue. The bans apply to Optus Stadium; the reporting does not establish a ban from Metallica shows or other venues.
What happened at the Metallica concert?
PerthNow reported that Beau William Loch Rollings, 20, and Rory Hugh Culbert, 23, jumped a security fence at about 10:30 p.m. during the November 1 performance, then climbed the stadium’s central tower. The report put their height at between 10 and 50 metres and said they remained there for about 20 minutes before climbing down. PerthNow reported the incident on December 2, 2025.
Metallica’s official concert archive confirms the Perth show took place at Optus Stadium on November 1 as part of the M72 World Tour. It lists a 15-song set, including “Creeping Death,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Nothing Else Matters” and “Enter Sandman.”
What was the outcome?
According to PerthNow, both men pleaded guilty to trespass and were banned from Optus Stadium for life. Rollings was fined A$1,000 and ordered to pay A$308.80 in court costs; Culbert received a similar penalty, the report said.

Those are reported case details, not a review of a court transcript. The available reporting describes a lifetime exclusion from Optus Stadium, not a court-ordered prohibition on attending concerts elsewhere or a Metallica-wide ban. A Rolling Stone AU/NZ report published December 8, 2025 also described the venue ban.

PerthNow attributed to Magistrate Ruth Dineen the description of the stunt as “an incredibly stupid thing to do and a good way to ruin your night out.” The newspaper also attributed “just stupid behaviour” to defence counsel Rachael Gemmell. These quotations are as reported by PerthNow; no accessible court transcript is established here.
