His reply: “It looks like you already have.” The exchange arrives after Eve’s assassin training and revenge quest, in a story set between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4.
What the 2024 CinemaCon footage reportedly showed
The material was exclusive to CinemaCon attendees. DiscussingFilm’s April 10, 2024 account described Eve’s origins in the Ruska Roma crime family, her training as an assassin, and her pursuit of a rival crime family. Eve admires Wick from afar before the two meet in her story.

The reported footage moved through snowy settings and action scenes, including a warning from a character played by Norman Reedus. Its central Wick moment comes when he arrives by train. Eve asks, “How do I start doing what you do?” and Wick answers, “It looks like you already have.” These are lines as described by DiscussingFilm from the exclusive footage, not a verified public transcript or studio-released clip. Who is Eve Macarro, and why does Wick appear?
Eve is the lead of Ballerina, played by de Armas and directed by Len Wiseman. The film’s official title is From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, framing it as a story within the franchise rather than a replacement for the main films. Lionsgate’s official film page

#1 Best Overall
- A young female assassin seeks revenge against the people who killed her family.
The placement between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4 explains how the spinoff can include Wick while fitting the series’ chronology. ComicBook.com’s account also describes Eve training and seeking vengeance for her family’s murder, with Charon and Winston appearing alongside Reedus’s threatening character. The exchange is brief but establishes the dynamic: Eve is already capable, while Wick recognizes that capability rather than offering a simple beginner’s lesson. The footage reports do not establish the full circumstances of their meeting or how much time Wick spends in Eve’s story, so the moment should not be taken as evidence of a larger team-up.

- A young female assassin seeks revenge against the people who killed her family.
In a June 2025 Associated Press interview, Chad Stahelski—director of the four John Wick films and a producer on Ballerina—praised de Armas’s ability to bring more than combat to the role: “I know that I can harden people up. I know I can make them the assassin, but getting the charm and the love and the humor out of someone is trickier. But she had it.” Associated Press interview
