Till Dawn opened in 2022 as a video game-themed café and bar at 5048 California Ave SW in West Seattle. It is no longer the venue’s name: after an ownership change, the business was rebranded as The Void in 2025. The original Till Dawn concept is best understood through its 2022 opening coverage, not as a guide to what the successor offers today.
What Till Dawn was designed to feel like
In a preview published August 20, 2022, GeekWire described a dark, game-inspired interior with murals and changing LED lighting. Original owner Andrew Spence said, “I wanted it to feel like it takes you away from reality.” The idea was to make the café more than a place to play: its atmosphere was meant to offer a temporary escape.
The preview described 16 stand-up gaming stations, each with an individual monitor and console, along with a private room intended for Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. Those were features of the original venue as described in 2022, not verified details about The Void. GeekWire’s August 2022 preview covered the planned concept before opening.
Games and the opening-day reality
The early coverage captured the venue at different stages, so the plans and operating snapshots should not be blended together.

- August 26, 2022: West Seattle Blog reported a very soft opening centered mostly on Boon Boona coffee, with food and games not yet available.
- October 2022: Westside Seattle / West Seattle Herald reported that Till Dawn was set up with Nintendo Switch. PlayStation and Xbox stations were planned, and coverage also described pinball and video games.
The distinction matters: a feature planned for the full concept was not necessarily present during the soft opening. The October account is a dated snapshot of the venue’s development, not confirmation of its later setup. West Seattle Blog’s soft-opening report and the October 2022 local feature document those separate moments.
Coffee, food, and the bar concept
Coffee was part of the initial offer, with Boon Boona identified as the supplier in 2022 coverage. The October feature described about 40 international beers in bottles, Japanese snacks, fruit sandwiches, and Dochi donuts. The August preview had discussed a broader beer and liquor menu as contingent on licensing; its mention of more than 75 beers was a post-license plan, not the same count as the later report of about 40 bottled international beers.

GeekWire also reported that local bakeries were expected to supply main food items and listed snacks such as Mountain Dew, Hot Cheetos, rice candy, and Hi-Chew. These are historical reports and plans from 2022. They should not be read as a current menu or as evidence that those suppliers or products remain associated with the business.
What changed: Till Dawn became The Void
On May 30, 2025, West Seattle Blog reported that the café formerly known as Till Dawn had rebranded as The Void after an ownership change a little over half a year earlier. Co-owner Shadoe Leibelt said, “We loved everything about it, but wanted to do something different. If you want white walls and wood-edged countertops, more power to you, but now we’re a place I’d like to hang out.” The report described the successor as retaining part of Till Dawn’s identity with a heavy metal twist.

That history explains why someone looking for Till Dawn may encounter The Void instead. The 2025 report establishes the change in identity, but does not verify The Void’s current hours, menu, game library, or supplier relationships. For that update, consult West Seattle Blog’s May 2025 report; it is not a current operations listing.

The figures in the coverage describe Till Dawn’s own setup or plans, not broader Seattle gaming-café statistics. The 16 gaming stations came from GeekWire’s 2022 preview. The beer figures refer to different points and claims: more than 75 was a planned post-license offering in that preview, while the October 2022 feature described about 40 bottled international beers. Neither figure establishes what The Void carries today.
