The report says Kouji Mori and the Studio Gaga team are moving forward with renewed effort, while Mori will not draw Guts in the main story. Hakusensha’s official pages credit Studio Gaga with the manga and Mori with supervision, and its current Young Animal listing features a latest chapter. The official information confirms ongoing publication, not when another chapter will arrive.
What the 2026 update says—and what it does not
A January 6, 2026 report carried by IMDb syndication says Mori and Studio Gaga are proceeding with renewed effort on Berserk. It also reports Mori’s statement that he will not draw Guts in the main story. The specific update comes through secondary coverage, rather than a directly verified primary-source announcement: the report.
That wording should not be read as a chapter date, a promise of faster publication, or a fixed release cadence. Hakusensha’s current Young Animal issue listing features a latest Berserk chapter, which is evidence that the manga remains in publication; it does not say when the next chapter will appear.
Who is making Berserk now?
Hakusensha identifies Berserk as a fantasy comic and credits Kentaro Miura with the original work, Studio Gaga with the manga, and Kouji Mori with supervision. Those credits are listed on the official series page. Mori was Miura’s friend and has been involved in continuing the story; the official credit makes the division of roles clear without suggesting Mori personally draws Guts in the main story.

Where the manga appears, and how to read the schedule
Young Animal is the Japanese magazine in which Berserk appears. Hakusensha’s current issue page features a latest chapter and says the magazine is released on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. That is the magazine’s publication rhythm, not a Berserk chapter schedule: the listing does not promise a chapter in every issue.
English editions and formats
Dark Horse publishes the English translation and lists Berserk in its official series catalog. Its manga sampler describes the Deluxe Edition as a 7 × 10-inch faux-leather hardcover collection with ribbon bookmarks. These sources establish the English-language catalog and the hardcover format; they do not establish current prices or retailer stock.
- For English-language reading: Dark Horse’s catalog is the publisher source for the English edition.
- For a larger hardcover format: the Deluxe Edition is the format described in Dark Horse’s sampler.
- For Japanese editions: consult Hakusensha’s official series information and edition listings.
The 2025 Volume 43 collector edition
Hakusensha documented a Volume 43 special edition bundled with a Zodd bust figure, produced by Max Factory under Studio Gaga’s supervision. The official special-edition page gives August 29, 2025 as its release date and March 21, 2025 as the order deadline. Those dates are historical; the page does not establish whether the item is currently available.
