Where and when was Ace Frehley’s funeral?
Frehley’s family and friends gathered for an intimate, private ceremony and burial in the Bronx on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Billboard reported that fans were not present at the small memorial or burial. SiriusXM host Eddie Trunk, a friend of Frehley, said he was buried in a Bronx cemetery near his parents, reportedly in keeping with Frehley’s request. Billboard’s funeral report is based on Trunk’s account of the private service.
Did Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley attend, and did they speak?
Yes. Billboard reported that Simmons and Stanley attended, along with original KISS drummer Peter Criss, family and friends. The report does not provide a transcript, describe individual eulogies, or establish that Simmons or Stanley addressed the gathering. Their documented words of remembrance came in a joint public statement.
What did Simmons and Stanley say about Frehley?
In a statement reported by the Associated Press, Simmons and Stanley called Frehley “an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier” during formative chapters of KISS and said he would always be part of the band’s legacy. They also expressed sympathy for his family and fans. The AP report includes their statement alongside reactions from other musicians.

What public tribute plans followed the private funeral?
When Trunk shared the funeral details, he said Frehley’s family had approved his effort to pursue a public tribute or fan celebration. It was in early planning at that point, with no confirmed arrangements. That proposal is distinct from a later event reported by Guitar World on July 15, 2026: KISS planned an Ace Frehley All-Star Tribute during the November 13–15, 2026 KISS Kruise: Land-locked in Vegas. Guest names had not been announced in that report, and event plans can change.
