Carlo Ponti Jr.
Carlo Jr. is Loren’s elder son. Rai News’ retrospective account gives his birth year as 1968 and describes him as a conductor; the birth year is reported in that item, rather than confirmed here through an original birth record. Rai News
Edoardo Ponti
Edoardo, born in 1973 according to the same Rai News retrospective, is a filmmaker. He has directed his mother: one example is The Life Ahead, in which Loren starred. That collaboration is one part of his work, not evidence that he directed all of her later films. Rai News Los Angeles Times

Who is Lucia Sofia Ponti?
Lucia Sofia Ponti is the daughter of Edoardo Ponti and actor Sasha Alexander. That makes her Sophia Loren’s granddaughter. Vogue profiled Lucia as a Brown University student in 2024 and covered her attendance at Le Bal des Débutantes wearing Armani. The student description reflects the profile at that time; it does not establish her current enrollment. Vogue
The available reporting establishes Lucia’s parentage and those specific public appearances. It does not confirm her birth date, so a precise age should not be inferred from it.

In a 2017 interview, Corriere della Sera named Loren’s grandchildren as Vittorio, Lucia, Leonardo, and Beatrice. The interview provides the names as a dated list; it does not establish their birth order or identify each child’s parent, so those connections should not be assumed from the list alone.
