PerthNow reported in January 2012 that Diana Bliss’s brother Peter described a note she left for her family as loving and apologetic. He said he understood it to express that she could not keep going as she had and to speak warmly of her husband, Alan Bond. The newspaper also said Peter had not personally seen the note, so its account is not a verified transcript.
What did the report say about the note?
In a report published on 31 January 2012, PerthNow attributed its account of the note to Bliss’s younger brother, Peter. He described it as loving and apologetic. The story says he understood it to convey that Bliss could not continue as she had and to praise Bond as a husband.
Peter was reported as saying: “She just said she couldn’t keep going on as she had, especially with all that stress and pain on the family (through her illness).” PerthNow stated that he had not personally seen the note. The report therefore gives a relative’s account of its message, not the note’s complete wording or an independently verified transcription.
What is known about Diana Bliss’s life?
Diana Gwenyth Bliss (1954–2012) was a theatre producer. Malcolm Brown’s entry in the Australian National University’s Obituaries Australia discusses her theatre work in London, New York and Australia, and records that she died in Cottesloe on 28 January 2012. The entry also says she left a note thanking family and friends for their support and understanding; it does not publish the note as a transcript.

What remains unverified?
The sources cited here do not establish the full contents of the note or provide official coronial findings. PerthNow’s account of Bliss’s health history and treatment is attributed reporting, not a clinical record.
