A 2020 report described his account, including appearances on Judge Alex and Judge Joe Brown. The underlying disputes and the shows’ payment terms have not been independently confirmed by the available reporting.
What did Ben Palmer say happened?
In a July 2020 report, In The Know, published by Yahoo, said Palmer—who also used the online name palmertrolls—described a scheme in which he and friends “used to sue each other so [they] could get on court TV shows.” That is Palmer’s account as reported by the outlet, not an independently verified description of the disputes or any agreements with the programs. Read the 2020 report.
Which court shows did he appear on?
The 2020 report said Palmer had appeared on Judge Alex as both a witness and a defendant, and on Judge Joe Brown as a plaintiff. It also said he tried to get onto The People’s Court but was rejected. These details come from Palmer’s account in the report. See the report’s account of the shows.
What did the reported cases involve?
A June 2022 report recounted Palmer’s description of an early appearance: one friend sued another, Palmer testified as a witness, and they won. The same report says Palmer claimed the TV show paid the plaintiff the amount sued for. It also names two Judge Alex cases involving Palmer: “Albanese vs. Palmer” and “Boyd vs. Dent.” The report does not independently establish the case details or payment terms. Read the 2022 report.

Were these ordinary court trials?
Not necessarily. A legal-services explainer describes televised court-show proceedings generally as arbitration and says participation usually requires the other party’s agreement. That is general context, not confirmation of the arrangements in Palmer’s cases; show-specific terms can differ. Read the explainer on court-show proceedings.
The reporting available here does not include primary footage, official participation rules, contracts, or court documents confirming Palmer’s account. It therefore does not establish whether any particular dispute was also filed in a conventional court or what happened to it outside the televised proceeding.
