The dates and labels are not equally certain: a shared child establishes a co-parenting relationship, not by itself the duration or exclusivity of a romance. This timeline distinguishes confirmed milestones from reported links and attributed accounts.
Nick Cannon’s dating history: the timeline
Around 2003–2005: Christina Milian
Us Weekly reports that Cannon and Christina Milian met while working on the 2003 film Love Don’t Cost a Thing and dated for about two years before splitting in 2005. Milian later said she found text messages that suggested Cannon had been unfaithful; Cannon disputed that he had done anything wrong. The reported allegation and his denial do not establish a settled account of the breakup. Us Weekly’s timeline and its Milian relationship timeline recount the relationship and competing accounts.

2006: Kim Kardashian
Us Weekly reports that Cannon and Kim Kardashian were linked in 2006. Kardashian reportedly said in 2007 that they were “never really a couple,” so this is best described as a reported connection, not a firmly established relationship. Us Weekly’s account includes both the reported link and her qualification.
2007: Selita Ebanks
Cannon and model Selita Ebanks reportedly became engaged in 2007. Us Weekly says the engagement ended about five months later. An engagement is a more specific milestone than a reported link, but it does not mean they married. Us Weekly

2008–2016: Mariah Carey
Cannon and Mariah Carey began dating in early 2008 and married in the Bahamas in April of that year, according to Us Weekly. Their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, were born in April 2011. The couple separated in 2014, briefly reunited, and finalized their divorce in 2016. These dates mark a marriage and its legal end; they should not be conflated with the later co-parenting relationship. Us Weekly’s timeline
Cannon has described the priority of their parenting as ensuring their children’s well-being. In a 2020 Variety interview, as reproduced by Us Weekly, he said: “We’re doing whatever we can to make sure their upbringing is as healthy as can possibly be and that we’re as healthy as we can possibly be.” Us Weekly
From around 2014: Brittany Bell
Cosmopolitan describes Cannon and Brittany Bell’s relationship as beginning after his separation from Carey and continuing on and off. Us Weekly reports that Cannon and Bell have three children, born in 2017, 2020, and 2022. Those family milestones do not establish a continuous or exclusive romantic partnership across those years, so the relationship dates remain approximate. Cosmopolitan’s timeline; Us Weekly
2015–2020: Jessica White
Cosmopolitan describes Cannon and Jessica White as having an on-and-off relationship during this period. The article also recounts White’s account of learning about Bell’s pregnancy. That attributed account is not, on its own, a complete or independently established chronology of when the relationships overlapped. Cosmopolitan

2017 and 2020: Lanisha Cole
Cosmopolitan says Cannon and Lanisha Cole dated in 2017 and again in 2020, and that they appeared to have broken up by 2021. Us Weekly includes Cole among the women with whom Cannon had children after his marriage to Carey. The parenting connection does not establish a longer dating span than the periods specifically reported. Cosmopolitan; Us Weekly
2020 onward: Abby De La Rosa; status not established
Cosmopolitan reports that Cannon and Abby De La Rosa reconnected in 2020. They welcomed twin sons in June 2021 and a daughter in November 2022, according to Us Weekly. De La Rosa spoke publicly in 2022 about their relationship outside conventional labels and defended polyamory, saying: “Being in a polyamorous relationship doesn’t mean you have low self-esteem or self-worth.” Her statement describes her perspective; it does not establish that the pair had an exclusive partnership or define their current status. Cosmopolitan; Us Weekly

2021–2022: Alyssa Scott and family milestones
Cannon and Alyssa Scott’s son Zen was born in June 2021 and died in December 2021, at five months old, from brain cancer, according to Us Weekly. Their daughter Halo was born in December 2022. These are important family milestones, but the births do not establish the duration or current status of a romantic relationship. Us Weekly
2022: Bre Tiesi
Us Weekly reports that Cannon and Bre Tiesi’s son, Legendary Love, was born in June 2022. Cosmopolitan describes a long-running, on-and-off connection but does not provide a settled dating span. It is therefore more precise to note the reported relationship and family milestone than to assign definite start and end dates. Us Weekly; Cosmopolitan

Where they stand today: what the public record supports
Historical reporting supports that Cannon and Carey have continued to co-parent. That does not indicate a current romantic relationship. A more recent E! search result attributed a statement to Cannon about speaking with Carey almost daily or every other day specifically about their children, but the underlying page was not accessible for verification. That detail should not be treated as established here. Us Weekly’s historical co-parenting coverage; E! News search result
Why the dates and labels vary
- Marriage and engagement: Carey and Cannon’s marriage and divorce, and Ebanks’s reported engagement, are distinct milestones with comparatively clear dates in the cited accounts.
- Reported links and dating spans: The Kardashian connection is explicitly qualified by Kardashian’s reported comment, while several later relationships are described as on and off or lack precise start and end dates.
- Co-parenting: Shared children establish a family and parenting connection, not by themselves how long a romantic relationship lasted, whether it was exclusive, or whether it continues.
Accordingly, this is a timeline of publicly reported relationships and family milestones, not a definitive account of every private relationship or everyone’s current romantic status.
