Steve Wyatt married Amber McLean in Perth on the weekend before 3 December 2017, according to a contemporaneous PerthNow report. The private family ceremony was followed the next day by a black-tie reception at Wyatt’s Cottesloe home, Le Fanu House.
Who is Amber McLean?
McLean was described in reports as Wyatt’s former colleague and as the former personal assistant to Chris Ellison, Wyatt’s business partner and co-founder of Mineral Resources. PerthNow reported that Wyatt was 53 and McLean was 33 at the time of the wedding, and that they had been together for three years. Domain’s June 2018 follow-up also identified her as Ellison’s former personal assistant and placed the marriage in late 2017.
When and where did they marry?
The wedding took place in Perth on the weekend before PerthNow published its account on 3 December 2017. The report described an intimate ceremony attended by family, followed the next day by a black-tie gala at Le Fanu House in Cottesloe.
What was the reception like?
About 150 guests attended the gala, according to PerthNow. They were shown a photographic slideshow of the ceremony projected on a wall. The report named lawyer John Hammond, property developer Luke Saraceni and real-estate agent Vivien Yap among those present; it did not provide a complete guest list.

Why was Le Fanu House notable?
PerthNow reported that Wyatt bought the circa-1893 Le Fanu House in 2009 for $4.25 million and spent almost $11 million restoring it.
