What makes the groupings tricky
Watch for words with more than one reading
PARTRIDGE can suggest a bird, which may pull attention away from its role as a television-family surname. The bird-and-verb group is separate: DUCK, GROUSE, HAWK, and SWALLOW each have both uses.
Test the K-prefix pattern as a complete set
The final group relies on adding K to each word, rather than on a shared meaning among MART, POP, STREET, and SWISS. K Street is a name associated with Washington, D.C., and K-Swiss is a brand name. Some readers in the February 2 puzzle discussion said those references were unfamiliar; individual comments do not measure how difficult the board was overall.
