In a playful interview shared by the West Coast Eagles, Elsa Simpson asked her father Adam—then the club’s coach—about the 2018 grand final, family life and SpongeBob SquarePants. PerthNow reported on the exchange on 7 October 2018, describing it as a three-minute clip that ends with a mini-mic drop and a high-five.
How the interview began
Elsa opened with a football question: who had West Coast beaten in the 2018 grand final? The Eagles had defeated Collingwood to win the premiership. From there, the conversation moved well beyond the match.
PerthNow reported that the club shared the interview on Twitter. The report captures a light father-daughter exchange rather than a formal coaching interview.
From football to family and pop culture
Elsa’s questions ranged across favourite television shows, Queen waves, wobbly teeth and holiday destinations. She also asked whether Willie Rioli had played in the grand final. Adam Simpson replied, “starting to second-guess myself now”.
