The 2025 AACTA Awards ceremony brought Australian screen-industry names and international guests to HOTA, Home of the Arts, on the Gold Coast on 7 February. Contemporary fashion coverage captured a selection of arrivals, from Phoebe Tonkin in Chanel couture to Sophie Wilde in an archival Loewe gown.

The 2025 ceremony at HOTA

The ceremony took place on Friday 7 February 2025 at HOTA as part of the AACTA Festival, which ran from 5–9 February. AACTA President Russell Crowe hosted. Presenters included Henry Cavill, Kitty Flanagan, George Miller, Sam Pang, Kate Mulvany, Guy Pearce, Aisha Dee, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Teresa Palmer, Lisa McCune and Sophie Monk. Robbie Williams and Paul Kelly performed. (AACTA’s ceremony announcement)

The evening celebrated film and television as well as fashion: Better Man received the Best Film award, while Sarah Snook won Best Lead Actress in Film for Memoir of a Snail. This gallery focuses on selected arrivals documented by fashion and photo coverage, not a complete list of attendees or outfits.

Phoebe Tonkin and Sophie Wilde: couture and archival design

ELLE Australia described Phoebe Tonkin in a sheer Chanel dress from the Spring–Summer 2023 Haute Couture collection, paired with Chanel Coco Crush Fine Jewellery. Its coverage also placed Sophie Wilde in an archival lace Loewe gown with structured hip paniers. These credits identify the looks as reported at the event; they do not establish current retail availability. (ELLE Australia’s arrivals roundup)

White gowns and sculptural draping

Alycia Debnam-Carey wore a white draped Grecian gown by Christopher Esber, according to ELLE. The roundup described Asher Keddie in a white dress with ruched detailing, without naming a designer. The Australian Women’s Weekly separately described Tonkin in a lace white gown, offering a compatible visual account of her look. (ELLE Australia; The Australian Women’s Weekly gallery)

Gold, floral and embellished looks

Aisha Dee’s gold velvet look was credited to Scanlan Theodore by ELLE; The Australian Women’s Weekly described her gown as gold patterned. Charlee Fraser wore a gown by American designer Khaite, and Sharon Johal chose a floral pink Carolina Herrera dress. Chloe Hayden’s floral gown was credited to Velani. Essie Davis wore a pleated blue L’Idée Woman dress, with Calleija jewels and Lana Wilkinson heels. (ELLE Australia; The Australian Women’s Weekly gallery)

Other reported details included Sarah Ellen’s studded black top and sequinned Rabanne skirt, Teresa Palmer’s black mini dress with daisy details, and Lisa McCune’s embellished tea-length dress. The Women’s Weekly gallery described Palmer’s mini as having silver daisy detailing and McCune’s dress as soft-gold and beaded. ELLE did not name designers for Palmer’s dress or McCune’s look.

Suits and additional arrivals

ELLE described Anna Torv in a three-piece white suit, Bryn Chapman Parish in a grey herringbone suit and loafers, and Guy Pearce in a navy suit; no designer was stated for those outfits. Gracie Otto wore a black-and-gold motif gown, while Sophie Monk was reported in a form-fitting red dress, also without designer credits in the roundup. The Guardian’s photo gallery records arrivals including Robbie Williams, Gracie Otto, Jonno Davies, Phoebe Tonkin, Paul Kelly and Sophie Wilde, but its captions do not provide detailed garment descriptions. What these fashion credits do—and don’t—tell you

The designer names and garment descriptions above are attributed to ELLE Australia’s event-day roundup, with visual details from The Australian Women’s Weekly where noted. They are not independent product verification: the coverage does not establish exact retail models, present stock, prices or whether any piece can still be bought. Couture and archival descriptions in particular should be understood as event credits, not shopping listings.

These galleries document selected arrivals rather than every guest. AACTA’s official winners and nominees archive is useful for award results, but does not catalogue red-carpet clothing. For photographs, consult each publisher’s rights and licensing information.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
