Billie Eilish’s public work spans recorded music, live performance, songwriting, film projects, merchandise and fragrance. Those activities point to ways she can earn money, but no cited public source provides a current, audited breakdown of her personal earnings by category. The seven channels below are documented commercial activity—not a ranking of her income or proof of what she personally keeps.
1. Recorded music sales and streaming
Eilish’s official store lists albums in physical formats, including vinyl and CDs. Recorded music can generate revenue through sales and streaming, but the available sources do not disclose her streaming receipts, recording-contract terms or net share. A release’s popularity or the availability of a record does not reveal an artist’s personal earnings.

2. Touring and live performances
The Associated Press reported the HIT ME HARD AND SOFT arena tour announcement, with planned dates from September 2024 through July 2025. Those dates have passed; the announcement documents touring activity, not her net profit from the shows. The AP also reported a charitable allocation from ticket proceeds. Gross ticket revenue, tour costs, charitable contributions and an artist’s personal earnings are distinct figures, and the cited announcement does not establish her take-home amount. 3. Songwriting and publishing
Eilish’s songwriting is another potential source of revenue. In a December 2024 interview, CBS discussed her songwriting and her work on “What Was I Made For?” for Barbie. Songwriters may earn through publishing and performance royalties, but the interview provides no royalty split or payment amount for Eilish. A songwriting credit establishes creative involvement; it does not disclose the contract or share of income. CBS News interview
#1 Best Overall
- Billie Eilish's third studio album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, released via Darkroom/Interscope Records is her most daring body of work to date, a diverse yet cohesive collection of songs - ideally listened to in its entirety from beginning to end - does exactly as the album title suggests; hits you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically, while bending genres and defying trends along the way
4. Film and soundtrack projects
The Barbie song is a documented example of Eilish’s work connected to a film. A separate, historical deal was reported by Forbes: its 2020 profile said she reportedly collected $25 million from Apple for a documentary about her life and career. That is a reported project payment, not a verified current or recurring income stream, and the cited profile does not establish her net proceeds after any costs or obligations. Forbes profile
5. Merchandise
Eilish’s official store offers apparel and other merchandise. Universal Music Group’s 2024 annual report also references Hit Me Hard and Soft pop-up stores and describes the company’s broader merchandise business. UMG said 36% of its merchandising revenue in 2024 came through direct-to-consumer channels; that is a company-wide figure, not a Billie Eilish-specific sales or earnings share. The sources establish merchandise activity around her brand, but not how much she personally receives from an item sold. Universal Music Group 2024 annual report
Rank #2
- Recorded during her sold-out world tour, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE) is exclusively available on 100% recycled vinyl as a one-time-only pressing, uniquely colored with a lenticular insert
6. Fragrance
The official store includes an Eilish Fragrances section, documenting a branded product line. The sources do not give fragrance sales, licensing terms, manufacturing arrangements or Eilish’s compensation. A product carrying an artist’s name is evidence of commercial activity, not a disclosed personal share of each sale. Billie Eilish Official Store
7. Commercial projects and partnerships
Projects outside ordinary music releases and ticket sales can also generate income. The reported Apple documentary payment is one documented example, though it is historical and project-based rather than evidence of a recurring partnership. The available sources do not establish current endorsement deals or payments from other named commercial partners, so they cannot support a broader list or an earnings estimate for this category.
Rank #3
- Billie Eilish releases her highly anticipated sophomore album, Happier Than Ever, via Darkroom/Interscope Records
What the published figures do—and do not—show
Forbes listed Eilish’s Celebrity 100 earnings as $53 million in 2020, as of June 4, 2020. This is a dated earnings figure, not her current income, an audited personal earnings statement or a verified net-worth figure. Forbes also reported the $25 million Apple documentary payment; neither figure establishes what she retained after costs, taxes or contractual arrangements. Forbes
Tour-impact figures should not be mistaken for income either. The official tour impact report says initiatives connected with the HIT ME HARD AND SOFT tour raised $13.3 million for climate action and community organizations. That is fundraising, not earnings paid to Eilish.
Rank #4
- Billie Eilish's third studio album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, released via Darkroom/Interscope Records is her most daring body of work to date, a diverse yet cohesive collection of songs - ideally listened to in its entirety from beginning to end - does exactly as the album title suggests; hits you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically, while bending genres and defying trends along the way
Across these channels, the central limitation is the same: public evidence confirms activity but generally does not reveal the personal amount she receives. Sales, ticket proceeds, a reported deal value and charitable fundraising measure different things; none alone establishes her take-home income.
