They debuted together in 2002 as the enforcers of Eric Bischoff’s three-minute countdown: when a performer failed to entertain him before time ran out, the pair arrived to attack. Jamal’s WWE release in June 2003 ended the original partnership; Rosey later found tag-team success with The Hurricane.
Who were Rosey and Jamal?
Rosey was Matt Anoa’i, son of Sika and older brother of Roman Reigns. Jamal was his cousin, Eddie Fatu, who later became known to WWE audiences as Umaga. WWE’s retrospective describes the pair as cousins and traces their shared debut to Raw in 2002. WWE’s account of Rosey and 3 Minute Warning and its obituary for Rosey provide the biographical details.
Why were they called 3 Minute Warning?
The name came from the team’s recurring role in Bischoff’s on-screen countdown. WWE says their debut followed Bischoff giving D’Lo Brown and Shawn Stasiak three minutes to entertain him. When the time expired without impressing him, Rosey and Jamal emerged from the crowd and attacked the two performers. The countdown became the act’s basic premise: Bischoff judged the entertainment, and the cousins delivered the consequences.
The introduction was so sudden that the team’s ring identities were not immediately clear to everyone backstage. Matt Anoa’i recalled in WWE’s retrospective: “As soon as we got to the locker room, a lot of the boys were like, ‘Alright, who’s Rosey and who’s Jamal?’” Their manager, Rico, added a distinctive look to the act as the pair targeted performers and teams across Raw.

How long did the team last?
The partnership’s defining WWE run was brief. WWE says Jamal was released in June 2003, while Rosey chose to remain with the company. The official retrospective does not establish a reason for the release, so it should not be treated as evidence for a specific explanation.
Did 3 Minute Warning win the WWE Tag Team Titles?
No title win is attributed to 3 Minute Warning in WWE’s cited accounts. Rosey later teamed with The Hurricane, and WWE says that duo won the World Tag Team Titles at Backlash 2005. That championship belongs to Rosey and The Hurricane, not to Rosey and Jamal.

What happened to the wrestlers afterward?
Jamal became Umaga
After the 3 Minute Warning partnership ended, Eddie Fatu later returned to WWE as Umaga, the identity by which many fans remember him. Rosey’s WWE retrospective also quotes Matt Anoa’i describing his cousin’s ambition: “I always knew he was hungry.”
Rosey continued in WWE
Rosey stayed with WWE after Jamal’s departure and later became one half of the team with The Hurricane. WWE’s obituary, published April 18, 2017, says Rosey died at age 47. His later championship success was a separate chapter from 3 Minute Warning’s brief run.

Why the team still stands out
3 Minute Warning was built around a simple television device rather than a long-running championship story: a clock, Bischoff’s judgment, then the arrival of two imposing cousins. The concept gave the team a clear purpose on Raw and made their entrance the payoff to each countdown. Its memory is also tied to the later WWE identities of its members: Rosey’s run with The Hurricane and Fatu’s evolution into Umaga.
For a Rosey collectible, Mattel lists the “WWE Elite Legends Rosey Action Figure,” a six-inch figure with accessories (model/SKU JCJ85). The Mattel Creations listing showed the item as sold out when checked; that listing does not establish whether it is currently available through Amazon or whether a 3 Minute Warning two-pack exists.
