Travel influencer and photographer Anunay Sood died from combined fentanyl and ethanol toxicity, according to the Clark County coroner’s office, as reported by The National. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the coroner classified the manner of death as accidental. Sood’s family and friends announced his death in November 2025 but did not disclose a cause at the time.
What is established about Sood’s death
The reported medical finding is “combined fentanyl and ethanol toxicity.” Ethanol is the type of alcohol found in alcoholic drinks. The cause was attributed to the Clark County coroner’s office by The National; the Review-Journal also reported the finding and said the manner of death was ruled accidental.
That finding does not, by itself, establish how Sood encountered the substances or the circumstances surrounding their use. The reviewed news reports do not include the full coroner or toxicology file, and do not establish dose, route, precise timing, or culpability.
What the family announced, and when
On November 6, 2025, Sood’s family and friends announced his death in a post on his official Instagram account and asked for privacy, including asking followers not to gather near personal property. The Indian Express reported that their statement did not give a cause of death. It quoted the announcement as saying, “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of our beloved Anunay Sood’s passing.” The report did not identify an individual family member as the speaker.

The cause became public later. On December 23, 2025, The National reported the Clark County coroner’s finding, and the Review-Journal reported both the cause and accidental manner of death. The distinction matters: the family confirmed the death, while the later cause determination was attributed to the coroner.
What has been reported about the circumstances
The National reported that Sood died while visiting Las Vegas in November. The Review-Journal specified November 4 and reported that he was found unresponsive in a room at Wynn Las Vegas. Those location and date details come from the outlets’ reporting; they should not be treated as details contained in the family’s announcement.

Why early reports said the cause was unknown
Reports describing the cause as unknown or pending preceded the completed determination. Clark County’s Coroner/Medical Examiner FAQ explains that cause and manner are determined after the investigation and evidence are evaluated, and that the office does not issue a preliminary finding. Early uncertainty is therefore consistent with later reporting of a final determination.
