If you’re looking for sites like Comick, start with MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA for free, official Shueisha manga, or WEBTOON for webcomics and creator series. Neither is established as a full replacement for Comick’s broader range. Check whether the series, chapters, language, and region you need are supported before switching. Tapas is not a durable long-term option: its announced end-of-service date is March 31, 2027.
What are some sites like Comick?
The best choice depends on what you read. MANGA Plus is the clearest option here for official Shueisha manga; WEBTOON is a good place to look for webcomics, including creator-led series. Their catalogs serve different purposes, and neither has been shown to duplicate Comick’s breadth across manga, manhwa, and manhua.

Is MANGA Plus a good Comick alternative for manga?
MANGA Plus is an official Shueisha service. Its FAQ says the service is free and describes titles including Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto. It also says releases for some titles are timed alongside Japan. Shueisha’s FAQ puts it plainly: “This service is completely official.”
Its scope is narrower than a general comics aggregator: MANGA Plus carries Shueisha-published comics, not every publisher’s work. Access to chapters is also selective rather than a guarantee of a complete archive. The service says some opening and latest episodes are available, and some chapters may not be displayed. For completed works, its FAQ notes that the latest three or six chapters may disappear 30 days after the last release, with exceptions.

Language and location matter too. MANGA Plus lists English and Spanish content, and says licensing can make some titles unavailable in certain locations. Check the specific series page for the chapters and language you want.
Is WEBTOON a good alternative for webcomics?
WEBTOON’s official catalog includes categories such as drama, fantasy, comedy, action, romance, superhero, and science fiction, along with daily listings and indie creator stories. That makes it a natural option for readers looking for webcomics and creator series rather than a comprehensive manga archive. Its landing page does not establish that it carries the same breadth of manga, manhwa, and manhua that a Comick reader may expect.
Rank #2
There is also a practical reason to favor official services: they provide a direct route to publisher or creator-supported releases. In an August 13, 2026 release, WEBTOON Entertainment said NAVER WEBTOON worked with South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, INTERPOL, and local law enforcement to take down three English-language comic distribution sites and secure an operator’s arrest. The company said those sites had scanned and translated more than 300 WEBTOON titles without authorization. It attributed more than 130 million combined visits over the previous year to Similarweb; that figure refers to those three sites, not Comick or the unauthorized-comics market as a whole. WEBTOON Entertainment Chief Risk Officer Kim Kyunam said, “Illegal webcomic sites infringe on creators’ legitimate earnings and hinder the growth of the global webcomic ecosystem.”
Why Tapas is only a temporary option
Tapas announced on October 1, 2026, that its service will end on March 31, 2027. The company also said new Ink acquisition ended October 1, 2026. According to its end-of-service FAQ, users can use remaining Ink and access content through March 31, 2027; after that, Tapas and previously unlocked content will no longer be accessible. Purchases cannot be transferred to another Kakao service. That timeline makes Tapas unsuitable as a lasting replacement, and readers should not assume unlocked purchases will remain available after the shutdown.

How to choose an option without losing time
- Identify the kind of series you want. For Shueisha manga, search MANGA Plus. For webcomics and creator series, browse WEBTOON.
- Check the exact title and chapters. A service’s general catalog does not guarantee that a particular series has every chapter available.
- Confirm language and regional access. Licensing may affect which titles or editions appear where you live.
- Treat closure dates as a hard limit. Tapas access is scheduled to end March 31, 2027, including access to previously unlocked content.
Is Comick shut down, and is there an official replacement?
Comick’s current status, domain ownership, and any official successor are not established by the primary sources available here. That means a site claiming to be a Comick replacement should not be treated as official on name alone. The services above are alternatives for particular reading needs, not verified successors to Comick.
