The brief account appeared in a PEOPLE exclusive excerpt connected to Holker’s memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light.
What Holker said about the moment
In the PEOPLE exclusive excerpt, Holker recalled: “I raced down the hallway, shrieking.” The line is her first-person recollection of learning from police that Boss had been found dead; it is not an independently observed quotation from the moment.
An excerpt syndicated by AOL adds that Holker had been trying to locate Boss and thought he might have checked into treatment before police informed her he had died. That context comes from the reported memoir and interview account, not a complete reconstruction of events.
How the account relates to her memoir
The PEOPLE excerpt connects Holker’s recollection to This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light. Harper Select announced the memoir for February 4, 2025, in hardcover, ebook, and audiobook editions; Holker narrates the audiobook, according to the publisher’s announcement: Harper Select’s announcement.

A separate later discovery
Another syndicated PEOPLE excerpt focuses on Holker’s reported discovery of substances among Boss’s belongings while she was preparing for his funeral. That was a later event, separate from the police notification and hallway recollection. The available excerpt does not provide a full account of either scene.
