Who is Eddie Burns?
The Miami Herald describes Burns as a Chicago drummer and producer. The outlet reports that he has worked with Clairo, Frank Ocean, Dominic Fike and Omar Apollo, and that his work with Clairo dates to 2018 and includes producing “4EVER.” Those career details are attributed to the Herald’s account; they do not establish anything about his relationship with Dean.

According to the Miami Herald’s account of an October 2025 Glamour interview, Dean was asked whether she was seeing anyone and replied, “I’d rather not comment.” The Herald also quoted her saying, “I’m always talking about my own life. But I really want people to think about themselves when they’re listening to [my music too].” Her response did not confirm or deny a relationship with Burns.

In a September 2025 ELLE interview, Dean discussed her album The Art of Loving as a reflection on her understanding of love and recent life events. She named bell hooks’s All About Love as an influence on her view of love as a practice and craft.

Dean has also discussed the lyric “I don’t want a boyfriend” from “Nice to Each Other.” She said, “I think feminism is about women making whatever choice they want for their own lives,” describing the perspective behind the lyric rather than disclosing her relationship status.
