Jay and Jordan McGraw are the sons of television personality Phil McGraw, known as Dr. Phil, and Robin McGraw. Their documented public work differs: Jay’s official biography describes a career across television production, publishing, books and telemedicine, while recent reporting on Jordan centers on his production of an NYPD reality series called Behind the Badge.
Who are Jay and Jordan McGraw?
Jay and Jordan are Phil and Robin McGraw’s sons, according to Dr. Phil’s official biography. That biography names Jay’s wife as Erica and Jordan’s wife as Morgan Stewart, and lists four grandchildren. It does not provide a basis for further claims about the family’s private life.
What does Jay McGraw do?
Jay’s official biography presents him as a television creator and executive producer, as well as an executive at Stage 29 Productions, Bird Street Books and Ghost Mountain Books. It credits him with work on The Doctors, The Test, CBS specials featuring his father and Decision House, and says he hosted Renovate My Family. The same biography describes him as a co-founder and board chair of Doctor on Demand and lists degrees in law and psychology. These are the biography’s descriptions and career credits; they should not be read as confirmation that every listed corporate title remains current.
The biography reports that The Doctors received the 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative and had five nominations in that category. This is a dated award credit, not evidence of Jay’s current job titles.

What is Jordan McGraw known for?
In recent reporting, Jordan is associated with producing Behind the Badge, a planned reality series about the New York Police Department, through McGraw Media. The Associated Press reported on March 28, 2026, that New York City and Jordan McGraw settled a dispute over the program. Under the settlement, the city retained editorial control and could require removal of content it designated as inaccurate or confidential, legally restricted, revealing investigative techniques, or otherwise compromising public safety or public trust. The agreement cleared the way for the series’ release, according to the Associated Press report.
