At the time, FX was weighing whether to continue the series, what it would cost, and how to schedule production. FX later renewed the show, and Disney said production on season two was underway in London on July 10, 2026. No premiere date was announced.
What timeline did Noah Hawley give for a Season 2 decision?
None. In September 2025, after the first-season finale, the series creator said discussions were underway but that he did not have a decision timeline. In comments reported from an Entertainment Weekly interview, Hawley said: “Part of it is not just, ‘Are we gonna make more?’ but, ‘Are we gonna make more at what price and what’s the timeline for it?’ So all those factors are being discussed, but I don’t have a timeline for you.” Alien vs. Predator Galaxy, September 24, 2025
What was FX considering?
Hawley described the decision as both creative and practical: whether to make more episodes, the production cost, and the schedule. In a post-finale interview with TheWrap, he noted the expense involved, saying, “These are not cheap shows to make, and I always say to Disney, it’s my job to be ambitious for you.” He also said he wanted a sustainable production with a more regular schedule. TheWrap, September 23, 2025
The available reporting does not establish a specific budget, audience figure, or other statistic as the reason for the renewal. Hawley’s comments identify the kinds of considerations under discussion, not a quantified threshold or a promised decision date.
