What happened between A$AP Rocky and A$AP Relli?
The charges arose from a confrontation in Hollywood on November 6, 2021, between Mayers and Terell Ephron, known as A$AP Relli. The two had been friends and associates in the A$AP collective. Prosecutors alleged that Mayers fired a gun at Ephron during the encounter. Ephron testified that shots grazed his knuckles. Mayers denied the account through his defense, which argued that the firearm was a starter pistol. These were disputed accounts presented in court, not facts established by the acquittal. Source

What did witnesses and lawyers argue at trial?
Ephron was the prosecution’s key eyewitness and identified Mayers as the shooter. The defense challenged Ephron’s credibility. Jamel Phillips, known as A$AP Twelvyy, testified for the defense that he knew the gun was fake. The Los Angeles Times described the credibility dispute as centering on Ephron and Phillips. Those accounts were testimony and defense positions; the jury’s verdict was that Mayers was not guilty of the charged offenses. Los Angeles Times
What was the verdict?
On February 18, 2025, the jury found Mayers not guilty of both felony assault counts. He was not convicted in the criminal case. Did the acquittal resolve A$AP Relli’s separate civil case?
No. The criminal acquittal did not decide separate civil litigation. A July 29, 2026 report said discovery in Ephron’s defamation case against Mayers’s attorney, Joseph Tacopina, remained stayed pending an appeal, with the stay extended to January 28, 2027. That is a reported procedural update, not a final ruling on Ephron’s civil claims. Civil case update
