Michael B. Jordan’s best movies range from intimate drama to superhero spectacle and supernatural horror. This ranking weighs his performance, each film’s craft and impact, and what it reveals about his career—not just its review score. Rotten Tomatoes’ February 2026 ranking offers a useful critic-score reference, but the order below is an editorial judgment.
How this ranking works
Rotten Tomatoes’ “All Michael B. Jordan Movies Ranked by Tomatometer,” published February 23, 2026, lists these seven films at the top of its Jordan ranking. Its percentages are critic-review aggregates, not audience ratings or a definitive measure of quality; scores can change. The list below gives more weight to performance and career significance when deciding the order. Rotten Tomatoes’ ranking provides the score snapshot and film credits.
The 7 best Michael B. Jordan movies
1. Sinners (2025)
Jordan plays identical twins Smoke and Stack in Ryan Coogler’s supernatural film, making this the most demanding showcase of his range on the list. The Associated Press reported that Jordan won the 2026 Academy Award for best actor for the role; Sinners received 16 Oscar nominations and won four. Those honors mark the film’s exceptional reception, while the dual performance is the reason it leads this ranking. Rotten Tomatoes listed it at 97% on its February 2026 ranking page.
2. Fruitvale Station (2013)
Jordan’s portrayal of Oscar Grant anchors this intimate drama, based on the final day in Grant’s life. The Associated Press calls it Jordan’s breakthrough film role and the first collaboration between Jordan and writer-director Coogler. Its place here reflects both the emotional force of the performance and its importance in a partnership that later produced Creed, Black Panther, and Sinners. Rotten Tomatoes listed it at 94%.

3. Creed (2015)
As Adonis Creed, the son of Apollo Creed, Jordan takes the Rocky story into a new generation without relying on nostalgia alone. His physical commitment and guarded vulnerability make Adonis feel like a character with his own pressures and ambitions. The film also established Jordan as a mainstream leading man and continued his collaboration with Coogler. Rotten Tomatoes listed it at 95%.
4. Black Panther (2018)
Jordan’s Erik Killmonger is a formidable antagonist whose convictions give the superhero conflict emotional and political weight. The role stands apart from his heroic leads: he brings intensity and charisma to a character whose grievances are serious even when his methods are destructive. It is his major franchise-villain performance and another Coogler collaboration. Rotten Tomatoes listed the film at 96%.

5. Creed III (2023)
Jordan returns as Adonis Creed and makes his feature-directing debut. That combination makes Creed III especially useful for seeing him shape a story from both sides of the camera, while the film turns the familiar boxing framework toward Adonis’s past and personal relationships. Rotten Tomatoes listed it at 89%.
6. Just Mercy (2019)
Jordan plays lawyer Bryan Stevenson in this drama about the fight against wrongful convictions and injustice. The real-life cases behind the film are more complex than any feature can fully encompass; it is best approached as a dramatization, not a substitute for the historical record. Jordan’s role brings the story’s legal and moral stakes into focus. Rotten Tomatoes listed it at 85%.
Rank #3
7. Chronicle (2012)
This found-footage science-fiction film offers a look at an earlier phase of Jordan’s career. Its young cast follows teenagers whose lives change after they acquire extraordinary powers, and the camera format makes the story feel immediate and increasingly unsettling. It is a worthwhile pick for viewers curious about Jordan before his leading-man and franchise roles. Rotten Tomatoes listed it at 85%.

These films show Jordan moving among distinct kinds of roles: the grounded drama of Fruitvale Station, the sports-film lead of Creed, the blockbuster antagonist in Black Panther, and the supernatural double role in Sinners. His work with Coogler connects four of the entries—Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Sinners—while Creed III shows Jordan taking on directing as well as acting. For the strongest single performance showcase, start with Sinners; for the role that began his defining creative partnership, choose Fruitvale Station.
