That account establishes the relationship and the reported sequence of events. It does not justify speculation about how the loss shaped Reeves’s later private life.
Alexandra Grant: a public relationship documented from 2019
Reeves and artist Alexandra Grant appeared hand in hand at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in November 2019, drawing public attention to their relationship. Vogue reported that the relationship was confirmed around that time and quoted their friend Jennifer Tilly saying they had been dating for several years. Vogue also reported that Reeves and Grant met around 2011 and grew close through creative work.

They collaborated before the relationship became public
Reeves and Grant worked together on the art book Ode to Happiness and the X Artists’ Books imprint. In a 2020 interview, Grant told British Vogue that the book began as a private gift for Reeves: “The book was made as a surprise, by me, for Keanu, as a private gift.” The collaboration predates their public appearance as a couple; it is not, by itself, proof of when their romantic relationship began.
