Netflix’s US calendar lists new arrivals from October 5 through October 10, 2026, including the crime thriller Animals, comedy-history documentaries Lorne and Who Is Martin Mull?, and spooky-season picks The Boogeyman and Below. The calendar has 20 dated entries, not a verified 19; weekly roundups use different counting criteria. Dates and availability can vary outside the United States.
Netflix’s official US release calendar shows 20 entries dated October 5–10. Some weekly roundups describe their window as October 5–11 and count a different slate: Tom’s Guide, for example, reports 24 new movies and shows. The totals are not directly interchangeable, so the list below follows Netflix’s dated entries rather than treating the headline’s number as confirmed.
What to watch first
- For a new crime thriller: Animals, arriving Friday, follows a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife after their son is kidnapped. Ben Affleck directs and stars, with Gillian Anderson also starring, according to weekly coverage.
- For comedy-history documentaries: Lorne looks at how Lorne Michaels built Saturday Night Live; Who Is Martin Mull? turns to the comedian and artist.
- For spooky-season suspense: The Boogeyman and Below bring, respectively, a grief-drawn creature and a sea-creature threat in a coastal town.
- For lighter Halloween viewing: Is It Cake? Halloween returns with a themed cake competition.
These are genre-and-premise groupings based on Netflix’s listings, not rankings or claims about quality.

Why weekly release counts differ
Weekly lists may count different dates or include titles beyond the entries shown on Netflix’s calendar. Netflix’s dated slate for this window ends on October 10 and has no October 11 entry; other roundups use the broader October 5–11 label. Accordingly, the exact count depends on the source and its inclusion criteria. The dates above reflect the US calendar as listed on October 7, 2026; check Netflix in your market for local availability.
