The available reporting supports a substantive profile, though not 15 equally well-documented lesser-known facts; the nine points below stick to verifiable milestones and dated claims.
Who is Doug Pitt beyond his famous brother?
Doug Pitt is Brad Pitt’s younger brother. Profiles by HOLA! USA and St. Louis Magazine describe a businessperson and philanthropist whose work is distinct from his brother’s acting career. The sources reviewed do not establish a reliable exact birth date, so a precise age should not be inferred from them.

What are the documented facts about Doug Pitt?
1. He founded a school-focused nonprofit in 2007
Pitt founded Care to Learn in 2007 to help students with immediate needs that can get in the way of learning. Missouri State University describes support for food, clothing, hygiene items, and prescriptions. The aim is practical assistance, rather than a broad program detached from a child’s immediate circumstances. (Missouri State University)
2. Care to Learn grew through local chapters
In a January 2023 interview, Biz 417 reported that Care to Learn had expanded to 41 chapters across Missouri. That is a dated snapshot, not a current chapter count. The interview describes a school-connected model: staff identify urgent student needs, and the organization helps address them with little red tape.

3. The organization marked a two-million-needs milestone
Biz 417 reported in January 2023 that Care to Learn had crossed its two-millionth need the previous year. That figure belongs to the organization’s reported milestone and the timeline in that article; it should not be read as a current total or confused with differently dated counts published elsewhere.
4. He started in the computer business in 1991
Pitt founded ServiceWorld Computer Center in 1991, according to Biz 417’s 2023 interview and St. Louis Magazine’s profile. Biz 417 recounts him joking that when he started, he “couldn’t even turn on a computer.” St. Louis Magazine reports that ServiceWorld merged with TSI Global Companies in 2013. (Biz 417; St. Louis Magazine)
5. His philanthropy also reaches Tanzania
Missouri State University identifies Pitt with WorldServe International’s water projects in Tanzania and reports that he helped provide clean water to more than two million Tanzanians. The university page does not show a publication date for that cumulative figure, so it is best understood as an institution-reported historical total, not a verified current count.
6. Tanzania named him a Goodwill Ambassador
Missouri State University says Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete named Pitt the United Republic of Tanzania’s first Goodwill Ambassador; HOLA! USA dates the appointment to April 2010. These sources document the appointment, not whether the title remains active today. (Missouri State University; HOLA! USA)

7. Kilimanjaro climbs were tied to water fundraising
Missouri State University reports that Pitt reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in 2011 and 2013, and describes him as the first American on record to mountain bike down the mountain. The university also attributes $1 million raised for Tanzanian clean-water projects to fundraising efforts connected with those climbs. The sum is tied to the broader fundraising, not to one descent.
8. Photography is part of how he engages with places
In its 2023 interview, Biz 417 reports that Pitt enjoys photographing people, nature, and wildlife, including in connection with places he encounters through water work. The detail offers a glimpse of an interest documented alongside his service; it is not a product recommendation or a claim about professional photography.

9. He once made the sibling joke part of a campaign
St. Louis Magazine reported that Pitt appeared in Virgin Mobile Australia’s 2012 “The Second Most Famous Pitt” campaign. The magazine said the video received more than 1.2 million YouTube views in its first week. That is a historical campaign figure as reported in the magazine’s 2014 profile, not a current view count.

Care to Learn totals vary by source and date. Missouri State University’s undated Hall of Fame profile reports more than 900,000 needs met and over 98,000 students served in 33 Missouri school districts; Biz 417 later reported the two-millionth-need milestone in a January 2023 article. Without aligned dates and counting definitions, those figures should not be treated as a direct growth comparison. The same caution applies to cumulative water-service figures: they are reported totals, not independently audited current measurements.

The available coverage documents several meaningful parts of Pitt’s career and service, but it does not support 15 distinct, equally strong lesser-known claims. Adding an exact birth date, presenting historical appointments as current, or splitting one event into multiple supposed facts would make the profile less reliable. The documented record is more useful when its dates, attributions, and limits remain visible.
