4. She studied musical theater at NYU
Bell studied musical theater at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, a background that preceded her work on stage and screen, according to D23 and the Television Academy.
5. Her Broadway debut came in 2001
Bell made her Broadway debut as Becky Thatcher in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer in 2001. The next year, she appeared in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, according to D23 and the Golden Globes.

6. She broke out on television as Veronica Mars

Bell narrated both iterations of Gossip Girl and voiced characters on The Simpsons and Family Guy, extending her work beyond on-camera roles and feature animation, D23 reports.
9. She played Eleanor Shellstrop in The Good Place

12. She hosted a reunion show for high-school musicals
Bell executive-produced and hosted Encore!, a 2019–2020 series that reunited casts of high-school musicals. D23 quotes her explaining the broader goal: “Immediately, we all knew we wanted the show to be more than just a musical theater show; we wanted it to be a human show.”
13. She connects comedy with moral questions

14. She has spoken about anxiety and depression

More recognition than a single role
D23 says Bell was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2022 and received a 2020 Webby Special Achievement Award for contributions to online COVID-19 relief and educational efforts. Her awards record also includes nominations, which should not be mistaken for wins: the Golden Globes profile lists nominations for The Good Place in 2019 and Nobody Wants This in 2025 and 2026.
