There is no official measure of an anime character’s weirdness, so this ranking weighs four things: an unusual premise, striking physical traits or powers, distinctive behavior, and how consistently the oddity shapes the character. It favors characters whose strangeness is specific and explainable—not simply those in the most surreal comedy.
10. Kineshi Hairo — The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
Hairo is an energetic, earnest class representative, but the official character profile notes a recurring slapstick trait: his backside tends to make an appearance. The humor comes from the mismatch between his conventional school-leader role and this persistent bit. His oddness is behavioral and comedic rather than supernatural. Official character profile.
9. Iyami — Osomatsu-san
Iyami is a longtime acquaintance of the six brothers, a schemer, and the owner of the signature “Sheeh!” pose. That recognizable mannerism gives him a peculiar presence without requiring an extraordinary power or an inflated claim about his place in anime. His strangeness is chiefly in his performance and behavior. Official character profiles.
8. Dekapan — Osomatsu-san
The official profile identifies Dekapan as an inventor and depicts him in his underwear—a combination that makes for an unmistakably absurd design. The evidence supports the inventor label and the visual gag, not particular inventions or abilities, so his place here rests on presentation rather than unverified lore. Official character profiles.

7. Kokomi Teruhashi — The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
Teruhashi’s strangeness is social rather than supernatural. She appears to be a perfect beauty, but works hard to maintain that image. The gap between seeming effortless and carefully managing how others see her makes her an unusual character in a list otherwise rich in strange powers and bodies. Official character profile.
6. Riki Nendou — The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
Saiki can read minds, yet Nendou’s thoughts are inaccessible to him. That exception turns an ordinary social encounter into a psychic blind spot. Nendou is also described as impulsive and something of a “mysterious idiot,” but the profile balances the joke by calling him kind and loyal to his friends. His oddity is as much about Saiki’s inability to understand him as it is about Nendou himself. Official character profile.

5. Reita Toritsuka — The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
Toritsuka has seen and spoken with ghosts since childhood, and seeks Saiki’s guidance to master psychic power. The supernatural premise is strange on its own; the comic contrast is that his ambitions sit alongside a self-serving, flawed personality. He is not just a ghost-seeing medium, but a character whose unusual ability and everyday selfishness keep colliding. Official character profile.
4. Dayon — Osomatsu-san
Dayon’s premise is brief and wonderfully hard to ignore: the official profile describes him as a mysterious man with a large mouth that absorbs everything. It is a physical trait, an ability, and a source of absurdity all at once. That concentrated, almost impossible concept earns him a high place even without adding unsupported details about what he can absorb or how the ability works. Official character profiles.

3. Kusuo Saiki — The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
Saiki’s conspicuous pink hair, head devices, and green-lensed glasses make him look unusual before he uses a power. His official profile lists abilities including telepathy, psychokinesis, clairvoyance, precognition, and teleportation. The defining twist is his effort to keep those powers hidden and get through ordinary life. The result is a character whose extraordinary capabilities are constantly set against mundane social situations. Official character profile.
2. Jigoku-san — Chimimo
Jigoku-san is an emissary from hell sent to turn the human world into hell. The assignment goes badly: he becomes a houseguest instead. When his emotions rise, hair covers his body and he becomes beastlike. The combination of infernal mission, domestic detour, and physical transformation gives him one of the list’s strongest strange premises. Official character profile.

1. Mikitaka Hazekura — JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable
Mikitaka Hazekura tops this list for the space his premise leaves open: even his official listing’s alternate name, Nu Mikitakazo Nshi, signals an unusual identity. The official portal confirms the character and that alternate name, but does not establish further details about his origins or abilities. That makes him a compellingly odd entry while also setting a limit on what can responsibly be claimed here. Official JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure portal.
How to read this ranking
The order is an editorial judgment, not a canon or fan-consensus ranking. It balances distinct kinds of weirdness: unusual powers and physical traits, recurring behavior, and the strangeness of a character’s basic premise. A character can rank highly without being supernatural, and a bizarre power alone does not make a character more interesting than the context around it.
