WWE also presented him as Flash Funk, but Scaggs drew a clear line between that character and the ring name he said he built himself.

2. Was 2 Cold Scorpio also Flash Funk?
Yes. WWE used Scaggs as Flash Funk, a distinct character from 2 Cold Scorpio. In a 2015 interview report, Scaggs explained how he viewed the difference: “I’m 2 Cold Scorpio until the day I die. 2 Cold Scorpio was the name that I built. Flash Funk was a nice gimmick. It was a gimmick that Vince [McMahon] came up with.” The report was published April 10, 2015.
3. His reported debut dates to 1985
A biographical summary places Scaggs’s wrestling debut in 1985 and says he trained at the New Japan Pro-Wrestling Dojo. These details come from a tertiary biography, rather than the WWE profile or Scaggs’s cited interview comments, so treat them as reported background rather than a fully corroborated career record.

4. His WCW arrival had a mystery-partner setup
The same biography says Scaggs made his WCW debut at Clash of the Champions XXI on November 18, 1992, as Ron Simmons’s mystery partner. That specific event detail is not confirmed in the cited WWE article; it is best understood as the biography’s account, not a complete or independently verified chronology.
5. He won a WCW Tag Team Championship
WWE confirms Scaggs was a WCW Tag Team Champion. The biographical summary identifies Marcus Alexander Bagwell as his partner and places their reign in 1993; the partner and date are details from that secondary account.
6. ECW was a major championship chapter
WWE lists Scaggs as both an ECW Television Champion and an ECW Tag Team Champion. The biographical summary credits him with four Television title reigns and a Tag Team reign with The Sandman. WWE’s profile confirms the championship categories, but not those exact reign counts or the partner detail.
7. WWE described him as a high-flyer
In its 2006 article, WWE characterized Scaggs as “risk-taking” and “high-flying.” Those are WWE’s descriptions of his style, rather than a measurable ranking. They help explain why his athletic presentation stood out across the different names and promotions attached to his career.

8. He discussed years of wrestling in Japan
WWE reported in 2006 that Scaggs said he had spent the previous seven years in Japan. That is his account as presented at the time, not a promotion-by-promotion history, and it should not be read as a complete international career timeline.
9. WWE announced his return in 2006
WWE published an article about Scaggs’s hiring on September 21, 2006. The article printed his reaction: “I’m really excited to be back in WWE.” The cited article establishes the hiring announcement and his enthusiasm; it does not, by itself, document every later step in his WWE tenure.
10. His career is best understood through more than one identity
Scaggs’s history is not only the story of a WWE character. The 2 Cold Scorpio name, the Flash Funk presentation, championship work in WCW and ECW, and his account of extended time in Japan are all parts of the picture. The official WWE profile is useful for confirming his listed championship categories and 2006 comments, while specific early-career dates and reign details above rely on a biographical summary.
